I visited Pittsburgh over the weekend and got the name of this place from the Beerfly / Directory. This is basically a hot dog restaurant (didn't get a chance to try the food) with a small, dark room in the back absolutely crammed with beer. The selection is fantastic, beers are organized by region (US micro brew and various countries). There were no employees back in the beer area while I was there, but the guys that checked me out were friendly and helpful. I thought the prices were quite reasonable
My goal was to get around 100 dollars worth of good beers that I couldn't find at home. No problem. I could have easily spent ten times as much!! I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the Pittsburgh area.

The first place I fell in love with when I was in the process of moving to the area. I find their draft prices a bit high but the awesome selection of 1000 different bottles in the back cooler makes it much more affordable. The bottles are self-serve and you just bring your selection back to your seat and the staff opens it for you.
The food is okay. But it could be way better.
Although a portion of the staff are annoying hipster-types with zero personality, there are more mature people there too who go above and beyond the call of duty. This more than makes up for those other sorry-asses. If I lived nearby I would be at D's a minimum of two days a week.

This is my kind of place. I go here for the hot dogs and the ever-changing selection of drafts. The cooler and beer cave don't change much, but the drafts are always many and different.
The hot dogs are really good. Very hearty. The salad and pizza? Not so much.
The servers are very relaxed and chill - this means they won't be over to fill your water glass every time you take a sip, and it might be a while for them to come to you on their own accord to check in or bring the check. But they will talk to you as people, not just another table of blank faces. They will answer any questions you have about the beer selections, and make recommendations if you ask. They may not come back to your table often, but they are quick to bring your beers when you order them, even if you had to flag them down to get their attention - but unlike some other places, they know they do this and won't sigh and roll their eyes when they see your hand waving at them or yelling their name across the restaurant.
