if you are in pensacola, you need to stop by this store if you like belgium ales. The guys there were very helpful and let us try some cheeses that were excellent. We picked up several St.bernardus's, even the Grottenbier.
The Belgium selection was far superior to anything ive seen in the south. We saw Gouden Grand Emperor and all the Allagashes. The staff was very friendly and seemed to be fairly knowledgeable about the various brews. We didnt have time to find out what all the great smells were coming from the deli, though, more on that later. I like the belgiums which they had on lock, if you like americans or germs you might be a little dissapointed, but hey your in the south, get over it

Go or don't go in here hungry, you're going to eat. This is a Mediterranean Deli that is also a specialty grocery that sells import and craft beer. The selection was better than I first expected upon entering. The folks were friendly enough but not Beer Geeks (no discussion.) Every time I looked up I was offered another sample from the deli and even a little wine. It was all very good I even made a few deli purchases. The owner(?) was very sales driven for the deli. To just say... No, thank you might have been a better move, one thing led to another right up to the register. No buyers remorse though. Came away with some great food and some nice additions to the cellar and a few that won't be around that long.

The owner is very pushy. Take the samples that are offered, but don't give in on the peer pressure. Everything is fantastic here though. Quite the selection, small, but diverse. I would recommend first going to Richey's East (right next door) before you get ripped off by the prices of Four Winds, however you are usually able to find some hidden gems here that Richey's may not have access to.
Overall: good selection, cramped, great food, pricey, too much pressure from the owner.

I was a little disappointed in this place after seeing such high reviews. Decent selection but completely disorganized. Many of the IPAs were old. Was able to find some fresh Stone RuinTen, which I have been anxious to try. Service was good...I guess. The owner kept offering me samples of different meats and cheeses but often handed them to me with his bare hand! What I tried was very good.
This place was okay, but not worth the trek from Orange Beach.

Outstanding. I was not able to visit this store in person, but their exceptional service resulted in me getting exactly what I was looking for, and at a reasonable price. I called ahead to order some Cigar City for a visiting friend to pick up in Pensacola, and bring back to Kentucky. The staff, especially Mike (the beer guy) and James (the owner), stayed in contact, and made sure all beer was safely delivered. I was extremely satisfied with my order, and the willingness of the staff to be flexible. This is how beer stores should act!

I really don't get the high ratings some folks are giving this place. I can only assume that they hadn't been to a *good* beer shop to know the difference.
The selection was good -- I have to admit that much -- but the organization was rather poor. Some of the beers were quite old, certainly not than what I'd call fresh.
The manager (or maybe owner) was very pushy, and only semi-knowledgeable (he kept trying to steer me toward his expensive labels, even though they weren't the styles I told him I was looking for).
All in all, everything in the place was quite overpriced. I didn't have enough time in Pensacola to see how the selection stacked up against other local places, but compared to shops I've been in elsewhere, this place was a disappointment.

Really people? The "best" in the Panhandle? This place is by far NOT the best in the Panhandle. Not even close.
Upon walking in we met the owner. Nice guy. A bit pushy as many of the reviews state. The place was gross. Cramped with shelves everywhere and open buckets of what appeared to be fermenting olives. We were approached by a cheese lady for a sample and she had no gloves on and handed us the cheese samples using the knife. Not what I expected.
The beer selection was....a disaster. NO organization at all with beer boxes all over the floor and Belgian beer next to American beer and all sorts of craziness. The one thing I can't stand is an unorganized beer section. And the selection wasn't all that impressive. As the former beer dude at Chans in Destin I can easily say Chans smokes this place. Hell, I went to Richies East right around the corner and it was better than this place.
