Fatheads...what a place. One of my favorite beer geek haunts in the Pittsburgh area.

Atmosphere: Features a large bar on the left and then regular seating in 3 dining rooms. Upstairs is a bottle shop. Beer is the theme, and what a great theme it is.

Quality: Well what can I say. They make some GREAT beers. Headhunter IPA is easily one of or the best IPAs in the Pittsburgh market.

Service: Often I visit the bar, and they take care of you there. When I have sat in the dining area Ive always had good service as well.

Selection: They have 40 taps and a cask. Always have quality and some semi-rare stuff. Rarely am I not impressed with their selection.

Food: Its an all you can eat place if you order one "headwich" sandwich. My favorite is the now retired "Bender" which had kielbasa, hot sausage, cheese, fried egg, a whole canned red pepper and spicy mayo. Thats a meal. They still make it for me.

Value: Its only slightly pricey because the beers are all at least $5 and up but it is reasonable for what you are getting. Its still hard to walk out of there without dropping cash because everything is so good there.

The OG Fat Heads, been there more times than I can count. Good sammies, great selection of FH and other craft breweries, as well as arsenal cider. Service can be slow at times because its always packed.

Huge portion sizes of fantastic food really make Fat Head's stand above the rest! You'll have to wait a bit for a table occasionally, but that wait is worth it once you see their very large selection of beers. Their own beers are great and they carry a slew of other craft brews you can enjoy.
Check it out if you're ever down on the South Side of Pittsburgh.

Had a very nice time here this afternoon with the wife and kids. Not as kid-friendly as the N. Olmstead location, and a bit crowded, but we came in pretty much during the lunch rush. Excellent tap list. Great Fat Head's choices on tap (I had Sorcerer and she had Hippy Sippy), and a bevy of other great brews to choose from as well. Wide variety of styles. I thought the waitresses/bartenders/greeter were really nice, especially as we brought in kids and a 6 month old in a stroller (I guess we contributed to the crowdedness)! The food was good, and there was a ton of it. Overall, just a fun time, and a no-brainer if you are in the area and enjoy great Fat Heads brews!

Great selection and sandwiches, long waits for tables, rude staff, very drunk patrons, and the few times I was there it was mid afternoon ! Lots of kids, basically free roaming kids while there parents get drunk. On guy actually disciplined a kid by picking him up by his foot and holding him up toward the ceiling, while the crowd and staff roared with laughter, not for mature craft beer, shame because the potential is there
