4 oz sample at the brewpub in Madison.

Clear gold in color with a nice head that dropped pretty quickly.

Aroma is invitingly fruity with a hint of cloves.

The fruit continues into the flavor, leading with banana followed by a fruity blend (pear and peach?) Cloves are here but subdued, and the bitterness is low. Some bready sweet malt fills in the middle. It has a long banana-accented finish.

The body is light to medium, with prickly carbonation.

Overall, it is pleasant and easy to drink. I would prefer more clove spice, and higher but gentler carbonation -- it should sort of foam in my mouth, not tingle.

Reading the other reviews, it would seem that I am getting it at the end of its run, since the cloudiness is gone and the head is suffering. It sounds like it was better when it was young.

Serving from a tap at the new Cornerstone Brewpub in Madison, OH.

Hazy turbid golden yellow beer, with a fluffy white head. Looks like a Hefe. Head retention and lacing are up to style norms.

Nose is lightly estery, with typical Hefe notes coming up. Banana/clove is very light, making this lean towards an American Hefe.

Taste is also standard Am. Hefe, and a bit estery. Very clean and straight-forward. Estery notes cover up a light maltiness which is in the background. Hop notes are pretty much non-existent, which is fine for the style. Mouthfeel is medium-light, and the the over all feel is one of a very thirst quenching brew. Drinkability is high, as you could enjoy this one all night long.

Though I'm not particularly a hefe fan, I would be happy to drink this one all night. When visiting the brew pub, be sure to check this one out.

Na Zdravje!

A - it pours as a traditional Hefe should. It is a nice cloudy amber-yellow with a nice tight white head.

S - Strong aromas os banana and clove are mixed in with the yeast sulfur ( I call the yeast smell sulfur). A nice balance. Simple and traditional.

T - It starts off with the aromas combining to mix with the flavors of banana and clove along with the slight craker flavor and biscut like flavors of the vienna/ pilsner/munich malts that comprise this beast , of course with the over 50% of wheat in the grain bill. It has only the slightest bittering of hops that takes away from this being a malt bomb and balaces it very nicely.

M - Simple and light on the palette, this goes down very easy and leaves no residue. There is niether a carbination or bitter sharpness on the tounge which makes this very easy to drink.

D - This is definitley a very drinkable, true to style Hefe.
