All around, this is a solid Spec's. Of course there are better ones in the Houston area, but there really is nothing to complain about here. Nice selection of beers, including a wealth of 120 minute IPA bottles. The beer guy there was very helpful and checked on some stock for me. As always, Spec's is the place to go for the good deals.

Of course the Westheimer at Kirkwood and Downtown Spec's locations really can't be beat beer-wise, but this is a really good Spec's to check out if in the Woodlands.

Typical non Smith Street Spec's. Decent, but not exceptional selection of all things beer, wine, and liquor. Some bottles/cans seem a little old or past its prime, and the Bourbon selection needs some serious beefing up. Nobody has ever offered to help me find anything the few times I have visited. Not that I usually need help, but it is always nice to show a little effort. Anyway, for the area this isn't bad but many better spots in the general Houston Metro area for beer and even Bourbon if you happen to be looking for that as well.

This is my neighborhood Spec's and when I cannot make the trip into Houston to go to D&Q Mini Mart or the Spec's on Smith, I stop here to see if they have some brews I have yet to try. Nowadays I really have to try hard to find a beer I have not tried that they carry, though they are some of the first to get new Texas craft beers. I picked up Karbach's here before anybody else had them. This Spec's is just like 9/10 that you will find from SA to Galveston to Houston to Austin, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Beware of old or improperly stored beer at this location, once the coolers were out for a week and they just let the beer re-cool after 100 degree days. Spec's in general does not FIFO as much as I would hope, just opened a Green Flash Imperial Red from the Smith location that had unsettling looking material floating around in the beer.

Try Hubbell & Hudson near the Woodlands Mall if you are in need of unique beers but do not want to drive downtown. Also, the Texaco off the I-45 South feeder just south of Sawdust has a steady flow of Lagunitas, Rogue, and Oskar Blues.

I usually expect an abundance of macrobrews and middle of the road beers when walking into a Spec's, but this location's selection impressed me. Belgian, German, British, European, International, and American craft brewers are well represented with stand out brews from Mikkeller, Brewdog, Brooklyn, and many others.
Other than Saint Arnold, Real Ale and Shiner, I felt that the local microbrew selection was lacking, namely, 512 brewery was MIA. Not a dea lbreaker though, as the friendly and helpful clerk looked through the database and even offered to place an order.
If beer isn't your thing, there's a fine selection of fine vodka, tequila, whisky, wine, and other beverages, as well as a lovely walk in humidor for a smoke to pair with your drink.
Overall, a solid place to grab brew. Not upper echelon, but it's no 711 either.

Don't let its ghetto appearance fool you. If you're looking for a special beer in The Woodlands this is the place to go. Far and away the largest selection in the area. A nice selection of bombers and a good amount of west coast brews. The beer guys are very knowledgeable and they usually have more stuff behind the coolers, just ask. Its best to go here before 4pm on weekdays, otherwise bring a lunch because you're going to be stuck in that parking lot forever. When there is a Saint Arnold special release go here first. Had Divine 11, Pumpkinator, and Sailing Santa on the release date when they opened. The grocery stores are a crap shoot.

A good little liquor store to go to when you're way up north in The Woodlands area. They have a really good selection of beers considering that the store looks like just a regular boony liquor store. Although it is Spec's owned and operated. Nice guy runnin the beer department as well. His name is Jeff. Funny enough, he doesn't drink alcohol at all! Yet he does know which beers are popular. Hes a good guy and he's always looking for some ladies. So if you know of any single females out there, hook Jeff up! Also they have a very big cool so there is a pretty huge selection of chilled beers.

This at the end of the day is pretty much your average Spec's.

However, for some reason I have had a really good luch with this store in getting beer that I want (for instance the Divine Reserve of St. Arnolds fame). Plus I have lucked out in finding a large omount of single beers that came from broken up sixers. I have even gotten a whole six pack that way for cheaper than one in its original package (Bridgeport IPA)!

Also like any other Spec's they can get you anything Spec's can get its hand on and it is usually up to that store in pretty quick fashion!

Parking can be an issue because of its location next to the Academy. Worth the effort for sure though!

This Specs is pretty good granted its not as big as the downtown location but its way better than the ghetto Specs near where I live. All of the beer is along the left wall in coolers and the shelfs across from them. The selection is very good with many different breweries to choose from. The first time I went to this Specs I couldn't find the beer that I was looking for, blindness or something, so I asked one of the people if they had it and they quickly showed me where it was. All in all I don't have any complaints about this Specs I just wish the one by me was as good.

Stopped by on my way from Denton to pick up a few things to celebrate the safe ride home. Cashiers greeted me kindly and had a quick conversation then went on my way to the beer. One of the better selections for a Spec's. Everything was fronted and organized and up to date. Sierra Nevada's Summerfest was in stock before even my local ones managed to pick it up (and one in particular still hasn't). Plenty of cooler space to compliment the warm shelves. Nobody on the floor greeted me or asked me for help, which is something I have grown to expect from Spec's. I might stop in again if I'm in a pinch, but not to go out of my way for.

this store had a great selection of micro brews. the entire left wall is dedicated to nothing but micro brews. it would take me about a year, (at least several months) to sample all the beers stocked. I'm not sure about the freshness of the beers, but I havent had a problem with them. The customer service is great, they box the beer for you if you are buying loose bombers instead of just throwing it in a bag. Paying with cash (or debit) will get you a five percent discount. none of the beer was too expensive. As far as I know, this store has the best selection in town. Its worth a stop if you are in town.

This store is always been great to me as far as customer service goes.I always get at least two employees asking me if i need some help finding anything. You will find a wide selection of wine and liquor. The wall on the left side of the store is dedicated to micros and imports. This particular store is my only carrier of St.Bernadus apt.12,the tripel, and the prior 8.They have good sales of some stuff, you just gotta keep watching.5% discount if you pay cash. They even offer glassware, collectible steins, and mugs.

Overall: Good place to call home.

Buried in a strip mall off I-45 but with a big, obvious sign out front. This impressed me less as a liquor store and more an alcohol warehouse, some mutant specialty Sam's Club with high stacks of bottles of all types. People roaming the aisles with shopping carts like it's a Safeway.

Major emphasis is on wine and liquor but the beer selection is extensive (for Texas). You might have to hunt for it because the craft beer is hidden out of the way along the far wall and the coolers. About a third is kept cool, the rest on standard shelving. Lots of room for everything approved and available, staff is quite helpful and knowledgeable.

Very small deli/imported foods aisle up front. 5% discount offered for cash sales.
