Millstream Heffer-weizen in a bottle
Appearance-pale gold color with a cloudy hazy complexion. Light one finger head.
Smell-a little of the hazy spice and malt, spice and alcohol, a little banana peel.
Taste/Mouthfeel-light mouthfeel, breaded malts and a watery feel, banana spice mixed with wheat. Alcohol fairly hidden, lots of carbonation and flavors are strong. Finishes relatively clean with a last note of light spice and malt.
Overall-Passable, not a true standout. Better versions out there.

Pours to a amber hue that is very clear with a white head that will last for a while, but has very spotty lacing.
Smells bit of banana and bubblegum. No clove spiciness at all. Wheat malt biscuity aroma barely present.
Tastes sweet with a fruity element. There is also a bitterness. You can taste ahint of hops.
Light bodied with crisp dry finish. Too carbonated though.
OK beer definatly wouldn't drink as my primary Hefe!

Muddy golden-orange body, with minimal head. Good lacing however.
Appealing nose of banana, pear and clove.
Taste follows suit with banana, clove, and (guess what) pear. Relatively large dough flavors, with some slightly sour yeast notes. Mushy banana aftertaste. Not bad, but nothing dazzling. Seems restrained.
Body is somewhat spritzy, but lacks substance. Thin, and not very creamy.
Not a beer I'd choose to consume in quantity, since there are alot of great hefeweizens around. This is far from the worst I've had, but equally far from the best.

Thanks to Adam for this one. Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Harpoon pilsner glass. August bottled on date.
A: Standard pour yields a 1 finger coarse, white head that dissipates quickly into a thin film atop the brew. Beer is a cloudy yellow with a slight orange tint. Lacing is spotty at best with little cling.
S: A good amount of skunkiness in the aroma. Sweet in the background with a nice spiciness and a subtle, lemon citrus twang.
T: Opens lemon, slight wheat spiciness, and a strong, malt backbone. This one gets sweeter and sweeter as it progresses. But there's not much else going on. Spices peak through every now and then but this one is very malt-forward. Wheaty finish and a sweet, filmy aftertaste.
M: Light bodied, crisp, and highly carbonated. Watery going down though a bit filmy in parts, which throws me off a bit. Finish is accented and aftertaste lingers.
D: A bit too sweet for my liking, but still, quite a drinkable brew. Not much complexity here, but given the style, quite appropriate. The body and aroma could use a little work though.

Quite possibly the dumbest label art i've ever seen.
Poured into a tulip glass with all the yeast sediment with it's B vitamin goodness. Murky opaque/dull orange, fading into canary yellow at it's edges.
Skunky hops at first, which seem out of place. Later it's more of the expected banana and clove notes, with some creamy sweetness as well.
The odd hops come through briefly in the flavor, but are similarly steamrolled by the more dominant notes of wheat, sweet banana creme pie, and light spicy clove. Sweetness is brief, and it finishes clean with a pleasant aftertaste. Fairly quenching, a little dry after the swallow. Overall a good hefe, the faded hops are distracting though.

A - Hazy tangerine gold color with a below average sized, foamy, bubbly, white head. Not great retention with a thin bubbly layer of lace left.
S - Good amount of banana and a lot of bubblegum aroma. Hints of clove and other spices. Some musty, grainy, wet wheat in the background. A touch of cracker in the background as well.
T - Similar to the nose with typical flavors for the style. Plenty of banana and bubblegum. Fair amount of clove, pepper, and lemon zest come in and out as well. Some grainy wheat taste along with a bit of a bread flavor in the background. Nothing too exciting, but it mixes well together.
M - On the fuller side of a light body with plenty of carbonation. Has a bit of a bubbly/zesty/spritzy feel that detracts some of the smoothness.
D - Not too sweet or spicy. Easy to drink beer with a nice amount of flavor traditionally found in the style.
Notes: Not a bad beer. Displays flavors and aromas typical of the style with the bubblegum aspect maybe a touch stronger than others. Not as full of a head or as creamy as others in the style, and the flavors didn't wow me as much as some others. All in all this isn't too bad of a beer and pretty easy to drink.

thanks to hero27 for the chance to try this neat beer. another rainy day, another barbeque, another wheat. A trend if you read my reviews in my sequence, pointless notes otherwise. A nice golden color with a white head. Very light wheat notes dominate. Light bodied, summer session beer. I'd be curious to try this on tap if I'm in the Iowa area.

Appearance: Very attractive brew, but, then again, all hefes are attractive to me. Poured a cloudy light-wheat, which was close to straw blond. Three fingers of thick head developed, but there was little retention.
Smell: Banana and lemon dominate, but there is also a sweet apple cider aroma and bubble gum. The yeast comes through, too, as well as some clove spiciness.
Taste: Lemon sweetness is prevalent, but the banana takes a back seat, even to the bubble gum. The yeast is more pronounced than it was in the smell, and the clove is much more powerful.
Drinkability: It's not complex, but it's good drinking. The Amana's German founders would approve, I think.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a hint of orange when held up to the light, and a lot of bubbles from the carbonation. Forms a pretty good sized white head that soon reduces to about a half inch of head.
Smell is bready, good amount of yeast and malt.
Starts out fruity, kind of lemon like. There is a hint of banana and clove as well, the downside is a bit of a funky flavor at the back, probably from the hops.
Feel is good, the carbonation adds a lot of tingling.
A decent wheat beer, but a bit short of the really good ones. What keeps this from from being better to me is the finish and the aftertaste. It starts out nice enough, good flavors there, but the back and aftertaste don't really mesh with the front, leaving kind of a weird aftertaste. It is easy to drink, and not bad, just not outstanding.

On tap at 2012 Autumn Brew Review, from notes
Light golden yellow pour with a head of white billowy foam.
Smells sweet and fruity, hints of banana and light hop.
Taste is a bit less pronounced than the nose, but is classic hefeweizen. Sweetness, fruits, a light hop bitterness. Banana, clove and bubblegum, come in late and are mild. Medium light body very well carbonated. Very easy drinking, quite typical flavors for style, decent, but nothing memorable.. except the labeling.

12 oz stubby bottle courtesy of BuckeyeNation.
Pours a cloudy, unfiltered tan color with a white frothy head that doesnt last long.
Smell is ripe banana, clove, and lighter fruit, maybe pear.
Taste is strong on the over-ripe banana with a hint of clove. not picking up much of the pear aroma in the taste. There is a husky aftertaste as well.
This one is light to medium in the mouthfeel, not much to dry the palate.
It does not finish crisp or clean which for me makes it tough to drink. I would not choose this one again although it was not horrible at all, just not at the top of the style, and with so many choices this would not be mine.

My second of 4 Millstream brews I received in a trade with Badbeer, thanks a lot!
A-Amber hued golden yellow. Clear, none of the haze that I expect with a hefe. Thin bright white head last for a bit and then fades away to a thin ring leaving spotty lace.
S-A bit of banana and bubblegum. No clove spiciness at all. Wheat malt biscuity aroma barely present. Nice but lacking.
T-While the aroma is a bit lacking the flavour is much closer to where it needs to be. Initial sweetness with fruity esters is followed quickly by a nice sharp bitterness from some clove elements and a touch of hops. Hints of lemony citrus in the background.
M-Light bodied and fairly crisp and refreshing. One thing puts it off though....it is too carbonated which gives it a harsh feel. I would appreciate a softer feel with more emphasis on the bite from the clove and hops.
D-Regardless of the carbonation I found myself liking this beer. Another surprisingly good beer from this small Iowa brewery. If they could soften this up a bit I would be sold.

On tap at Cedar Rapids airport bar. This beef is just too heavy in ultisols ways. Very thick mouthfeel, cloying sweetness and a very chewy mouthfeel. It comes off more like an imperial version of the style. The color is good. The aroma is close wit good banana and clove. But some balancing citrus notes would have been optimal. Also the draft version had a slight alcohol burn! I am not sure what Millstream wag shooting for with this brew, but it was just too much off-style for my tastes

Pours a cloudy pale orange color with a one inch bright white head. There is poor head retention and no lacing.
The aroma is decent. There's some pale wheat, banana, and a little spice.
The taste is ok. Again, mostly familiar flavors. Some banana and clove dominate the glass.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with an ample dose of fine carbonation.
Drinkability is high. The beer is decently made, the flavor is fine, and the abv is presumeably low making for a nice little package and familiar but satisfying hefe.

I got this brew from LordofTime25, Thanks Tyler!
12oz bottle swirled and served in a weisse glass.
L - cloudy yellow color with a small white head that went away after a few minutes despite the constant rise of tiny carbonation bubbles.
S - yeast and lemon aromas is what I got.
T - the yeast and lemon are in the taste as well.
F - light/medium body with mild carbonation.
D - it goes down easy.
