A 12 ounce bottle of Bohemian Lager from Trader Joe's. It pours fine, a crystal clear golden color with a decent, somewhat sticky, head. The aroma is crisp with malty undertones and a backbone of spicy hops.

Wispy malt on the palate with some rough grainy edges. It is sparse as it moves through the center--bordering on watery. It finishes with a flash of spice and hops. Sulfur lingers on the palate for a second or two after it is all done.

Nothing outstanding here, but drinkable nonetheless.

Bottle poured into a pilsner glass, which formed a nice white head which stayed around for awhile during drinking. Minimal lacing on the sides of the glass - more like foam islands and strands on the glass sides. Lots of carbonation to watch and a simple golden yellow color.
The smell is interesting - I get yeast, some apples and maybe a hint of a wheat beer - later some hops. Pretty good I thought.
Taste is nice - not bitter at all (18 bitterness units according to label), very smooth and a little bit sweet with some apple and malt sticking out. Nothing very memorable though as it goes down.
Mouthfeel - very carbonated but it coats everything nicely and then leaves. Not much else to say.
Drinkability I have to give it a 4 of 5 because it went down fast and went very well with a pork BBQ meal. I definitely could have picked up another if I didn't have to get back to work.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass

A: Clear golden body, little to no head (even on a hard pour). No lacing at all.

S: A little grassy grainy with a little pepper.... Very Pilsner like.

T: Light grainy flavor a little on the grassy side. There is a mild hint of bitterness. No malt here, pretty true to style.

M: Pretty thin body.... Little carbonation.

D: Pretty plain pilsner nothing that is a must have. ABV is good and is not a bad session beer.... price is low. Not the best TJ's I've had.

Poured this Czech Pilsener from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. It poured a hazy golden color, produced a thin white head, poor retention and only small amounts of lacing left behind. The aroma was nice full of biscuit and malted grain. Medium in body, this Pilsener has a base of biscuit malted grain, some herbal notes and it finishes dry. Overall, it is an average Czech Pils but nothing makes it stand out. Prost!

Got this in a 'custom made' sixpack.

Quickly disspovling head and the lacing doesnt even hang in there too long...

Crystal clear amber.

Mildly caramel and a tad bit of dry spice. Bready biscuity-ness.

A nice light to medium body with some crisp bitterness. Very refreshing and dry. I really enjoyed this, and lagers, as a style, are abysmally ranked on BA compared to other styles. I think this is a damn fine drinker and for the low price of $5 and change...it's damn good and definitly worth the price.

A -- Clear straw to light gold with a thick white head that holds up nicely.

S -- Soft malts and light spicy, even citric, hops. Slight DMS. Maybe just a little lighter in hop character than I'd expect from a Czech Pils, but still pleasant.

T -- Bready malts at first taste then spicy hops take over -- but both fade quickly, not much lingering aftertaste but a bit of graininess. Balance is certainly toward hops, but again -- pretty mild for a Czech Pils.

M -- Light body with a soft to vaguely spritzy mouthfeel.

D -- What can you say, but this beer is refreshing and goes down easy, nothing harsh or palate twisting, a quaffer. It's got more character than BMC and beats them at their own game.

Not sure why TJ's & Gordon Biersch label this a Bohemian/Czech Pilsner, it always seemed more in line with a German Pils -- even a Helles.

Appearance- Very light amber or dark straw with a tight, white head with no staying power at all. It does leave a thin, sticky white lace that also disappears in a semi-short time.

Aroma- Malty/yeasty with some malt sweetness and just the barest touch of hops. Just the tiniest bit fruity to.

Taste- Like the label says; "Crisp and refreshing". Kind of like a continental lager. A fairly aggressive bittering hop taste in the middle and at the end.

Mouthfeel- Body is medium for the style. Carbonation is a bit low, but it seems to work with this beer.

Drinkability- As a Czech Pilsner, not great. But pretty drinkable if you ignore style. One of the better Trader Joe beers. The mouthfeel, taste and aroma really complement each other.

An attractive, rich, golden hue in a pilsner glass with a generous amount of head that reduces much more slowly than I would have guessed; nice start.

Malty/yeasty mostly, with light hops (saaz?) scents are the major smells coming at me.

There’s not much to say (positive or negative) about this beer. A very clean beer, like a Euro lager without the metallic tinge I sometimes get. It is slightly watery although with a surprising touch of hop bitterness & a satisfying carbonation level.

This seems like it would be a very good food beer, especially with spicier foods. While not a superlative beer, for the price I would absolutely buy this again, especially if planning an Indian or Mexican meal.

Pours a clear golden straw hue, with a fizzy two finger head. Low retention and minimal lacing. Pilsener and pale malt nose, with a background noble hop aroma. Pale grain taste and mild sweetness upfront, followed by the signature sharp pilsener character common to the style. Dry aftertaste, a balanced spicy Saaz and floral Hallertau hop flavor with a subdued bitterness. Light in body with high carbonation and crisp mouthfeel from slightly tannic malt and drying hops. Finishes husky and dry with moderate german hop flavor lingering. A solid Czech Pils with good drinkability and respectable depth of flavor.

Twelve ounce bottle into Barilla jar.

Three fingers of head that dwindles kinda quickly. Some bits of lace here and there. Hints of grassy hops in the nose, sugary euro pale maltiness. Flavor is not really what I would call a Czech pilsener, but this beer is quite a bit better than I imagined it would be. A nice refreshing beer with a bit of a dry finish. Trader Joe's brews are well worth the 5.30 price.
