A very sessionable dunkleweizen.
I get lots of decadent caramel malt upfront that dances and melds with the flavors of raisins, bananas, cloves, honey and red figs. Slightly soapy and dry on the finish, overall ever so delicately sweet.
Feel is typical of a well made 5.2%er, moderately carbonated with medium body.
Only negative things I can say about this one is that it leaves virtually no lacing.

Look: Probably the ugliest looking beer I've ever had. Looks like thick, muddy pond water while pouring. It's a little better once it's in the glass, but not much. Cloudy grey-brown with a low off-white head; no lacing. Fortunately, the look is the low point.
Smell: Yeast, malt, wheat, a little herbal.
Taste: Yeast is there, but not too strong. Bready malts, not too sweet. Some herbal hops at the end with slight bitterness. A little bit of plasticy taste, but I only really noticed it once in a while.
Feel: Thick and well carbonated.
Overall: For a buck a bottle this is pretty good, like most TJs beer. Not nearly as flavorful or complex as Weihenstephaner, but that's a high bar to meet.

It pours darkish brown and has a fluffy creamy head. There are hints of breads and cocoa in the aroma of this brew. The feel sticks in your mouth and lasts long after you've swallowed. It's fairly sweet and while I'm missing the clove taste, I do get a strong taste of banana or banana bread coming through. Overall, I think this is a fine example of an easily available American Dunkelweizen.
