A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with a light amount of gentle carbonation along the edges of the glass and significant amounts of dark crimson highlights. The beer has a half finger tall dense foamy tan head that reduces to a thick film covering the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of dark fruits (plum and fig), dark malts, and roasted malts are present with a lighter aroma of lactose and some hints of brown sugar sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate to strong aromas of dark and roasted malts with a moderate amount of brown sugar sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of dark fruits (plum and fig), some lighter flavors of licorice, and just a hint of lactose sweetness. Just a hint of bitterness in the finish.
M: Full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light hints of alcohol warming.
O: Seems like a hybrid of a Russian Imperial Stout and a Milk Stout, very enjoyable with a light to moderate amount of sweetness and some notes of alcohol are present. Much more of a slow sipper than an easy drinker. Well constructed.

On tap in Brazil.
Deepest black color with a thick caramel head with great retention and leaving laces.
Nice aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, pine, caramels, rapadura and licorice.
Bold flavor with notes of licorice, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, plums, red fruits, cola, lots of anise, some lactose and nuts, rapadura, roasted malts and some citrusy. Dry aftertaste with a muffled but present bitterness.
Full body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 10.5% abv is evident and it could be better hidden, but still harmonic with the overall beer. Sticky feeling.
Very complex and solid RIS, but balanced towards the sweet side of it and not counterbalanced by hops. The rapadura gave a nice and interesting local touch, though.
Good local offering, a pity it is not sold at Guanabara prices off-shore. Amazingly, locally an Old Rasputin has a better cost benefit, being cheaper and better.
