600ml served in a pint glass.

A: Pours a nice dark orange color. Slightly hazy. Forms big bubbled white to yellow head. Great retention and tons of lingering soap-like lacings formed and left in the glass

S: Damn good. Caramel malts, flowery hops and the very particular and peculiar smell of rapadura which orchestrate all together giving also a bit sour sensation in the end. Hops are quite citrus and lemony.

T: Very strong malts backbone. Caramel, caramel malts and rapadura. Excellent hops profile: citrus and herby. In overall, a slightly sweet taste finished by a pleasant hoppy bitterness. The rapadura (wild cane sugar) gives it a slightly sour taste which, IMHO, is just delicious

M: Heavy, creamy and a little bit molasses sensation. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste

O: Excellent drinkability. Just another great Colorado specimen. Good double-IPA with strong Brazilian character

Large three-finger head that settles into a tight foam dome. Some streaky ring lace after every sip. The liquid is orange-amber with a mild chill haze.

Darker pale ale malt aroma. There's some alcohol to the nose as well. Low floral hop nose.

This is a surprisingly smooth IPA. This leans to the malt for the style. There's plenty alcohol warmth. The hop is spicy but not biting--this beer could stand to have a little bit more hop in it. Full bodied with a lower carbonation level.

I am surprised this is from Brazil as this is a very good DIPA.

A- Golden hues with excellent clarity. One finger head that leaves moderate lacing.

S- Floral and citurs with bready malt notes that are less pronounced.

T- Mmm hops. Im guessing the hop additions to the wort were late and short lived..not much bitterness but great hop flavor. Im glad I can taste the malt as well, caramel bready goodness!

M- Light carbonation, full mouthfeel, good job Colorado.

O- I really enjoyed the hop flavor without the burden of over bitterness.Overall a great showing from that Brazilians from Colorado!

Vixnu Imperial IPA, pronounced like Vishnu, the Hindu deity, but this is in Portugese, for we are having a beer from the Cervejaria (Portugese for Brewery, I presume) Colorado, of Ribeirao-Preto, Brazil. What, a craft brewery from Brazil? Why, I've never heard the like! In fact, I don't believe it! I won't even try it, it defies all logic! (That's how people are sometimes.)

So there's a Brazilian brewery called Colorado that has an Imperial IPA called Vixnu, and I'm drinking it straight off the tap.

Lightly clouded golden hue, vast, plump, creamy white head. Looks fantastic.

Pungent pineapple, mango, tropical fruit aromatics, lemon and lime zest, fairly moderate bitterness. Beautiful.

Taste: On the palate, not shy in the hop department. Light, biscuit-y malt body. Little bit of sweetness. Golden Promise? Soft, supple, smooth. Easy-going, despite the high ABV. And tons of American hop flavors and dazzling bitterness.
Delivers in full exactly what you want from this style. Loads of tropical delights and tons of bracing, bristling bitterness, what every hop head desires. Even coming from Brazil. It's delicious and delightful. Personally, I think this does as good of a job at ripping up the palate with bitterness and dropping fruity flavors as any of the great double IPAs. Even if it is from Brazil.

Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit and sugar nose and flavor is similar with grapefruit hops and cane like sugar, slight bitter aftertaste. Higher ABV is hidden. 600ml bottle $9.99 Julio's Liquors Marlboro, MA.

600 ml bottle into tulip glass, unknown bottle coding. Pours moderately hazy orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, floral, light pine, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity of hop notes with moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, floral, pine, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of earthy floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemongrass, peach, papaya, candi sugar, caramel, bread, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of hop and malt flavors; with a nice crisp hop/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a lightly creamy, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity of hop flavors with a moderate malt balance; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

What a big, catty, hop-nasty beer from Brazil!

Got it as a GABF special from downtown Denver.

Vixnu is a lightly hazy, peachy amber that pours with a huge head and some thick lacing on the sides.

It smells like some glorious blend of peaches, pine and fresh grapefruit juice. Not sure how old it is (maybe bottled in July?) but it's still pungent.

The taste stacks up with many imperial IPAs brewed stateside, with a hunk of catty, bitter hops that hits all the way through. It's also a little boozy. Some sweetness comes from the hops, but it unmistakeably leans more hoppy.

It's bitter and intense, with some great flavors. I wish it had a little more malt, but it's still delicious. If you can find it, try it!

Vixnu is a dark yellow-amber beer with a little haze to it and a nice, fluffy yellow-tinged head right about one finger tall. Retention is good, and the head stays around as the beer drops while depositing some steady patching on the walls of the glass.
It's fairly hoppy in the nose, earthy and floral with some fruitier notes and a bit of pith that's compensated by some malty sweetness and a little of the cane sugar essence. A lightly alcoholic note peeks out, and there's some white pepper in the floral spiciness.
The taste pretty much follows suit, though I'd say that while this beer is certainly tasty and a pleasure to drink, it falls a little on the less hoppy side for the style. That's not to say it isn't hoppy, and it's got great balance along with depth and a pretty good complexity, but the hops are a little tame for a DIPA. Otherwise, all the floral, spicy, pithy, fruity, earthy, reedy, and malty elements are here.
The body is medium, and the alcohol provides a bit of dryness on the tongue that gives a bite as well. It's not astringent by any means, but a little edgy, though it is pretty smooth too.
