12oz can into tulip

Appearance - Glowing amber orange, opaque, 2 finger head leaves lots of sticky lacing

Smell - Piney, grapefruit hops mingling with a bit of toasty, caramel sweet malts

Taste - More piney, grapefruit hops right up front, pine resin, moderate bitterness, slight alcoholy fusel notes, some semi-sweet malts creep in to balance with honey, caramel, and toastiness. Finishes off dry with moderate resin bitterness.

Feel - Medium body, gentle carb gets the job done, nice and smooth

Overall - A solid IPA. Tasty, west coast vibe with plenty of piney grapefruit hops going on - but just kinda says "typical" to me. Thing is, the typical craft IPA these days is pretty damn good.

Paid $.29 for a single of this at TW in Chantilly after receiving $2 off my previous purchase.

Appearance: this is a beautifully clear, copper ale with a billowing, white head. Lacing was intricate throughout the British pint glass.

Smell: loads of citrus (i.e., grapefruit, oranges) followed swiftly by piney hops.

Taste: a superb blending of biscuits, fruit, sweet malt (think bread with honey), and a solid (warming) finish. There is a lot going on with this IPA!

Mouthfeel: lightly carbonated with an excellent finish.

Overall: I'd heard really good things about this beer but had put off buying one for whatever reason. Well, not anymore; this stuff is a great representative of the style. The fact that it's out of a can is even more reason to enjoy. From the east coast to the west--Thanks Caldera!

Pours orangish golden with a nice white head. Aroma has some pine, a nice dose of citrus, a little tropical, and some easy going toast. Flavor follows suit. A crisp, lightish medium mouthfeel. Overall, bought a sixer of this blindly and glad I took the gamble. This a great IPA and one I will happily drink again.
