Belmont Station was the first stop on our intense beer tour of Portland. And what a stop!
I entered through the "Bier Cafe", where the tap list is quite outrageous: HUB Kentucky Xmas, Struise Black Damnation, Blackberry Albert, Deschutes Black XXIII, Ninkasi Pravda, Goose Island Class of 88, Full Sail Imperial Porter '12... good shit! Bartenders are not the friendliest folks, but they are efficient enough. The bar section of the station is small and a bit cramped, but I still found room at the bar. The best is to go next door and browse for brews while drinking beer.
The retail area is also small but so chock-full of goodies, you won't believe it. There is a barrel-aged section, including Eclipse, Big Bad Baptist, Double DBA and Rye on Rye. Also a variety of Alesmith barrel-aged stuff and even a vintage shelf with a 2007 Abyss for 40 dollars.
Service here is much friendlier and helpful than at the bar. Prices are high, no doubt. Quality is obscene. This place is wow!

My go-to when visiting Portland. Nearly un-paralleled selection (and I love that they post the full list on the website), helpful staff, decent pricing. Only negative I can come up with is that the popular stuff will fly off the shelves here faster than other shops because of its popularity. But impressively they are able to keep most beers I'm looking for on the shelves!
Best bottle shop in Portland!

Stellar place to drink. Reasonable price, great selection, pleasant atmosphere, and an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Portland has many fine drinking establishments, but few are as comprehensive and comfortable as Belmont Station. My personal favorite place to drink in Portland, and highly reccomended to any beer fanatic passing through town.

There are a lot of places to get bottle beer or draft in Portland. Though none have a selection of bottles like Belmont Station. They claim to have more than 1200 beers in stock and usually it's much more than that. On the current bottle list they have it above 1300!
Inside the building you have a bottle shop and then attached to that you have bar that serves rotating taps. They have a patio in the back and when the weather is nice or at least not down-pouring there are tables out front. The two sides are attached so all you have to do is walk to and fro between the bottle shop and bar. You can even pick up a bottle in the shop and drink it in the bar.
Service is pretty good. Most of the people that work there are really nice and helpful. My wife has had to go in there on occasion to pick stuff up when I was at work and they were super helpful. Then again most of them know us too. Usually they put new stuff up front however there isn't a 100 percent guarantee of that. I don't believe they have a "new" location set up which I wish they would. However their website has a complete list of bottles they have and it's pretty accurate though it's not real time. They also update their main page with what beers they got in both new and restocked and it is listed with the date and day. They get shipments in Tuesdays and Fridays.
You can also put in special orders on most beers though some things we can't get which is really sad. I've ordered something on Monday and it was there by Friday. If you want to check to see if they can order a beer and don't want to go into the store I suggest you call in. They seem to not respond to emails, at least I've never got one back.
Overall this place is the best place to get bottles in Portland. They have a huge selection and usually get a lot of hard to find beers and limited editions. Usually there isn't a limit though if there is they post it ... usually.

I went here with my cousin from Ca. He is a beer judge and a friend of his recommended this place. I have never seen a selection like this in my life. He said he's only been to 1 or 2 places that was better...that's how this experience was. If you've never been here before, I highly suggest it. The service was amazing based on what my cousin knows about beer. They even opened the beers in the pub area adjacent to the bottle shop. It was Outstanding!

Yeah....awesome place but kind of Twp sides of the coin here. The growler fill side was off the charts awesome. They gave us tastes and talked to us about the GREAT selection. The bottle shop side whole it had an awesome selection, the guy working that side was kind of rude and seemed to be preoccupied.

Belmont Station has a crazy selection of bottles. There are nice people behind the bar. I honestly expected them to be a little more surly - as usually happens with institutions. They had some fun things on draft and many local things. Their selection of bottles is outstanding, and they will walk around the store with you and point out special/local/new things.

I visited Belmont Station today while visiting Portland for Oregon Brewers Fest. I'm sure this will be a must-visit for me on future trips to Portland.
I really like the place. It's relatively small in area, but it's stuffed to the gills with great beer. Being from Washington, I liked the great selection of Oregon beers unavailable in my home state; plenty of saisons, wild ales and local IPAs, the trifecta of great bottle shops. There's also a fairly good selection of imports.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, as you might expect from a high-quality bottle shop. Prices are good, especially if you bring cash: there's a two-tier pricing system where each bottle has a cash price and a credit/debit price. So bring cash and all will be well!

Yeah, man, this place is great. Went to PDX yesterday to watch the USA destroy Belize in the Gold Cup, and made two trips to Belmont Station in less than 24 hours (and dropped about a hundred bucks). I live 2 hours away, so I always try to swing by there when I go to Portland.
Great selection, cool staff, chill atmosphere. You can get a beer from the bar and drink it while you shop. that's rad. I had my first sculpin on tap yesterday, while deciding over Fresh Squeezed or Ace of Spades. I went with Fresh squeezed for my homeboy koufax21.
Always a good visit when I get to go to Belmont.
Oh yeah, Bereandraiderfan, I got ya a Logsdon's Bretta!

I had about 8 hours in Portland the other day. I was without a vehicle. I said "drop me off at Belmont Station". They open at 10am. I had it all worked out, I was gonna walk down Belmont Street, hit up Horse Brass, then Cascade Barrel House.
They were getting a huge shipment of beer when I went in soon after the place opened. Cases everywhere. Employees were cool and helpful. They even held my beer while I walked all over town.
Large selection of stuff. I'll probably kick myself for not getting any Logsdon Saizon Bretta or Oak Aged Saizon Bretta, but whatever, I just can't spend that kind of money on a style I'm marginally into. Cans are all in one cooler. Most ipas are in the fridge, there's a few bombers that aren't. Tons of Abacus. Some local barrel aged stuff. The bar next door don't open until noon, which was kind of a bummer to sit and wait around for.
I have no idea how they decided to organize the place, I walked around many times, still seeing things I didn't in the first few circles around the store and aisles.
They charge you like the 2% amount they have to pay a card company, so bring cash if you wanna save a little bit of money.
Overall, I found the place to have a very good selection of beers, high quality, great service. I'm pretty much stopping in every time I'm on this side of Portland. Solid stuff without any attitude.
