A grocery store feel and somewhat small and congested at times. Not a real concern considering the selection is more than ample and quality is rather good. I have no complaints about the service either. A wonderful lady recommended a few top-notch stouts and we exchanged conversation for sometime.

I had a beer on the bar side and it felt a bit like a soda shop or candy store atmosphere. It was alright, they have a bunch of taps (10 plus, if I remember right) and decent selection, not sure how often they alternate
Good place to buy brews and a well rounded number of imports, micros, wines etc...

Belmont is the premier store for Portland

There is a reason why this is considered one of the best bars on the West Coast - because it is!

Love the vibe, love the staff, love the owners, and love the regular patrons. The biergarten in the back can't be missed during the summer months. And that Philly food cart is the perfect addition for food!

Outstanding bottle shop with top notch tap selection. Had two PtE and an Italian sandwich for under $20. Bottle selection second to none and priced. Dry well. A must stop in Portland.

If I leaved nearby I couldn't pay my rent. Thank god I only get to visit this gem once a year when I visit my brother in Portland. Fantastic service. Fantastic selection. Fantastic prices. Even bottle shop should visit this place and take note.

Not real sure how you could say something negative about this place. Visited here from Georgia over the summer. Absolutely ridiculous selection. The best part was grabbing a pint from the bar and then just wandering around in the tiny store looking at all the beer. Staff was friendly and super knowledgeable. Went here five times in seven days while in Portland. Great spot to grab a pint or to pick up some of the best beers from the northwest.

This place is out near older suburbs. The draft selection is excellent, the bar and seating area are decent, and the bottle selection is outstanding. During our visit we picked up a few bottles of rare Apothecary brews. I will definitely visit this establishment again when we come down to visit Portland.

The Atmosphere here is awesome , lots of beer lovers looking for a new beer, or ordering a nice craft tapper next door and walking in and shopping while enjoying it.

Hard to beat this quality, a lot of the best brews in enough quantity to satisfy everyone.

Service was as expected in the bottle shop, and also in the taproom.

Selection is enormous! Takes a lot of time to inspect and select from the beers represented from each brewery.

No fiord here, I think you can bring it in, if you want.

To me, the prices seem fair, but I am from out of town, just excited to see all the variety!

Love this place, so many beers, lots to take in, walk out a lot lighter.

Belmont Station is great place to get your bearings on the Portland and other Pacific Northwest offerings. The place is divided up into two sections, a bottle shop and a Biercafé.

The bottle shop has a outstanding selection. The coolers are divided by regions. Singles may be purchased from their six packs. Free cardboard sixpack holders are near the front cooler. There is also a small discount on most beers if you use cash.

The Biercafé offers 20+ beers on tap. The bartenders were pretty friendly and knowledgeable. The vibe of the crowd was pretty chill. The beer menu offers a flight of day, consisting of 4 small pours for $8. Most beers on tap are available in smaller pours, allowing an opportunity to try a few new beers.

There is also a back patio where the Italian Market food truck resides. The bartenders can take your food orders.

Great place to get a lot of good stuff in one location.

One of my favorite beer bars in Portland. The selection is fantasic while the environment is very modest and laid-back. The bartender was awesome and made us feel very welcome even though I was with a minor (something I found was not usually the case in Portland bars; a result of very strict drinking laws, I imagine). I recommend Belmont Station as a must go to anyone looking for the best beer places in Portland.

Belmont Station was the first stop on our intense beer tour of Portland. And what a stop!

I entered through the "Bier Cafe", where the tap list is quite outrageous: HUB Kentucky Xmas, Struise Black Damnation, Blackberry Albert, Deschutes Black XXIII, Ninkasi Pravda, Goose Island Class of 88, Full Sail Imperial Porter '12... good shit! Bartenders are not the friendliest folks, but they are efficient enough. The bar section of the station is small and a bit cramped, but I still found room at the bar. The best is to go next door and browse for brews while drinking beer.

The retail area is also small but so chock-full of goodies, you won't believe it. There is a barrel-aged section, including Eclipse, Big Bad Baptist, Double DBA and Rye on Rye. Also a variety of Alesmith barrel-aged stuff and even a vintage shelf with a 2007 Abyss for 40 dollars.

Service here is much friendlier and helpful than at the bar. Prices are high, no doubt. Quality is obscene. This place is wow!

My go-to when visiting Portland. Nearly un-paralleled selection (and I love that they post the full list on the website), helpful staff, decent pricing. Only negative I can come up with is that the popular stuff will fly off the shelves here faster than other shops because of its popularity. But impressively they are able to keep most beers I'm looking for on the shelves!

Best bottle shop in Portland!

Stellar place to drink. Reasonable price, great selection, pleasant atmosphere, and an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Portland has many fine drinking establishments, but few are as comprehensive and comfortable as Belmont Station. My personal favorite place to drink in Portland, and highly reccomended to any beer fanatic passing through town.

There are a lot of places to get bottle beer or draft in Portland. Though none have a selection of bottles like Belmont Station. They claim to have more than 1200 beers in stock and usually it's much more than that. On the current bottle list they have it above 1300!

Inside the building you have a bottle shop and then attached to that you have bar that serves rotating taps. They have a patio in the back and when the weather is nice or at least not down-pouring there are tables out front. The two sides are attached so all you have to do is walk to and fro between the bottle shop and bar. You can even pick up a bottle in the shop and drink it in the bar.

Service is pretty good. Most of the people that work there are really nice and helpful. My wife has had to go in there on occasion to pick stuff up when I was at work and they were super helpful. Then again most of them know us too. Usually they put new stuff up front however there isn't a 100 percent guarantee of that. I don't believe they have a "new" location set up which I wish they would. However their website has a complete list of bottles they have and it's pretty accurate though it's not real time. They also update their main page with what beers they got in both new and restocked and it is listed with the date and day. They get shipments in Tuesdays and Fridays.

You can also put in special orders on most beers though some things we can't get which is really sad. I've ordered something on Monday and it was there by Friday. If you want to check to see if they can order a beer and don't want to go into the store I suggest you call in. They seem to not respond to emails, at least I've never got one back.

Overall this place is the best place to get bottles in Portland. They have a huge selection and usually get a lot of hard to find beers and limited editions. Usually there isn't a limit though if there is they post it ... usually.

I went here with my cousin from Ca. He is a beer judge and a friend of his recommended this place. I have never seen a selection like this in my life. He said he's only been to 1 or 2 places that was better...that's how this experience was. If you've never been here before, I highly suggest it. The service was amazing based on what my cousin knows about beer. They even opened the beers in the pub area adjacent to the bottle shop. It was Outstanding!

Yeah....awesome place but kind of Twp sides of the coin here. The growler fill side was off the charts awesome. They gave us tastes and talked to us about the GREAT selection. The bottle shop side whole it had an awesome selection, the guy working that side was kind of rude and seemed to be preoccupied.

Belmont Station has a crazy selection of bottles. There are nice people behind the bar. I honestly expected them to be a little more surly - as usually happens with institutions. They had some fun things on draft and many local things. Their selection of bottles is outstanding, and they will walk around the store with you and point out special/local/new things.

I visited Belmont Station today while visiting Portland for Oregon Brewers Fest. I'm sure this will be a must-visit for me on future trips to Portland.

I really like the place. It's relatively small in area, but it's stuffed to the gills with great beer. Being from Washington, I liked the great selection of Oregon beers unavailable in my home state; plenty of saisons, wild ales and local IPAs, the trifecta of great bottle shops. There's also a fairly good selection of imports.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, as you might expect from a high-quality bottle shop. Prices are good, especially if you bring cash: there's a two-tier pricing system where each bottle has a cash price and a credit/debit price. So bring cash and all will be well!

Yeah, man, this place is great. Went to PDX yesterday to watch the USA destroy Belize in the Gold Cup, and made two trips to Belmont Station in less than 24 hours (and dropped about a hundred bucks). I live 2 hours away, so I always try to swing by there when I go to Portland.

Great selection, cool staff, chill atmosphere. You can get a beer from the bar and drink it while you shop. that's rad. I had my first sculpin on tap yesterday, while deciding over Fresh Squeezed or Ace of Spades. I went with Fresh squeezed for my homeboy koufax21.

Always a good visit when I get to go to Belmont.

Oh yeah, Bereandraiderfan, I got ya a Logsdon's Bretta!

I had about 8 hours in Portland the other day. I was without a vehicle. I said "drop me off at Belmont Station". They open at 10am. I had it all worked out, I was gonna walk down Belmont Street, hit up Horse Brass, then Cascade Barrel House.

They were getting a huge shipment of beer when I went in soon after the place opened. Cases everywhere. Employees were cool and helpful. They even held my beer while I walked all over town.

Large selection of stuff. I'll probably kick myself for not getting any Logsdon Saizon Bretta or Oak Aged Saizon Bretta, but whatever, I just can't spend that kind of money on a style I'm marginally into. Cans are all in one cooler. Most ipas are in the fridge, there's a few bombers that aren't. Tons of Abacus. Some local barrel aged stuff. The bar next door don't open until noon, which was kind of a bummer to sit and wait around for.

I have no idea how they decided to organize the place, I walked around many times, still seeing things I didn't in the first few circles around the store and aisles.

They charge you like the 2% amount they have to pay a card company, so bring cash if you wanna save a little bit of money.

Overall, I found the place to have a very good selection of beers, high quality, great service. I'm pretty much stopping in every time I'm on this side of Portland. Solid stuff without any attitude.

First place we stopped in town on our way to The Horse Brass. Friendly service from the bar side as we sampled a small glass of beer before shopping around. Nice tap list with a variety of Washington brews as part of Portland Craft Beer Week. Reasonable prices.

The store side was cram packed with beers. The selection here is seriously ridiculous. I could have spent hours in here searching all of the breweries/beers. Prices seemed fair. I would say about half of the beer here was in a cooler and the overall organization of the store was great. They even had some vintage bottles of things for sale.

My only complaint was on the store side service. The guy stood behind the counter the whole time and never asked us once if there was anything we needed help with. While it's nice to not be bothered, I believe an employee should ask everyone looking if they need help at least once. We were the only ones in the entire store.

Great place overall, just beware of the service on the store side.

aside from State Line in MD, this has to have the best bottle selection of any shop I've been in - they could easily go toe-to-toe....

bottle shop on the right/front, taproom in the back/left... kinda has an unfinished workshop feel, but it's very clean and comfortable

no kitchen but you can order food from a cart next door - Philly people - how ideal! sandwiches named after streets in South Philly, had the Passyunk (Baked Eggplant with Roasted Peppers & Fennel, Homemade Mozzarella & Pesto)... pretty dang good

enjoyed myself.... bartenders weren't busy but weren't necessarily chatty, paced around a lot, looking into the bottle shop portion (there was a tasting going on at the time...)... could be a different vibe each day....

too much sunlight was coming through the main front windows of the bottle shop - close to making contact with the first couple rows/shelves of bottles (I think the fridges were safe), the guy working the register let me keep some of the bottles I was buying on the counter while I shopped some more - problem was, he placed the bottles right in the path of a fat, warm sunbeam - what's up with that dude?! (I was later relieved to find out the windows are covered with a UV-blocking film) - to his credit, he did do his best walking me around the shop pointing out bottles I'd potentially dig as I was looking for non-hopped, herbed/alternatively-spiced beers, and they did have quite a few interesting selections...

if this joint and BeerMongers could have a lovechild, I'd marry the bastard

Bring Cash! They charge more for using your credit card.

This is a great bottle shop, even though it may seem small they have quite a lot of beer packed in the space. I think it's the quality of the beers that they carry that really elevates them though in my book. I often walk out of there with a considerable amount of beer, whereas some of the larger shops seem to have more junk filling their spaces. Sometimes they bring out cellared beers which is cool, although they seem to charge quite a bit more than other shops I've picked up cellared beer from. They have a nice glass assortment (for purchase), which for some reason isn't very common for bottle shops around here. Staff is pretty friendly.

The taproom is pretty small but usually has some great beers on the list. I've gone to a few events there when they break out some extra special beers (cellared and/or verticals).

A must for anyone looking for some great bottles.
