I frequent this establishment on a weekly basis.
The manager is very friendly and helpful; he could probably tell you about every beer they have in the store!
Great local selections with ample belgians to choose from as well as some harder to find stuff from other breweries nationwide.

You can do a mix and match 6pk with ANY BEER IN THE STORE! Provided that it itself is in a 6pk to begin with.

Superb service and fantastic price to selection all-around an awesome local beer stop to get your fix!

Stopped in a few weeks ago for the first time. Great place! I was able to find some nice DFH bottles that I have not been able to find anywhere else in Grand Rapids. I also saw a great row of all big bottles with DFH, Stone, Rouge, New Holland, Brooklyn Local 1, SN Harvest series, and many more.

The owner was very helpful and great to talk to. I went to check out and we ended up walking through the entire store again talking about our favorite beers, breweries, and beers we want to try. I also watched him as he took a customer around and made a custom 6-pack of his personal favorite stouts.

Overall, great selection, awesome service, worth checking out if you're in the area.

International beverage is probably my favorite beer store in the actual city of GR; they have a good selection (not as big as Siciliano's, but better stuff in my opinion) and the service is really good - they'll take to you for hours about beers if you want to. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, I plan to do most of my beer shopping here in the future. Pricewise I would say that they are similar to other area beer stores, maybe a little bit higher than Siciliano's but cheaper than B&B down on 28th street.

I stopped here basically because I saw it next to my hotel, not my usual method (beerfly before arrival). What a find, this store is seriously good at making quality beer available to those who need it. You can break apart any 6-pack and they'll sell it to you for the pro-rated 6-pack price per bottle, plus 15 cents. A great practice that I'd like to see more often, you can try singles before committing to a sixer without getting gouged for the privelege.

I estimate about 400-500 beers worth of selection, maybe more. Strong stock of locals such as Bells, Founders, and New Holland. Also tons of other USA craft brews, Belgians, and other European beers. Prices were about average for MI, very reasonable.

International Beverage is one of my regular stops anytime I'm out beer shopping. I have yet to find a store around Grand Rapids with a more knowledgeable and helpful staff. These guys love talking about beer and are happy to help you find what you're looking for or anything else you might like. They strike a great balance between good prices and good selection. Any six pack (or four pack) on the shelves can be broken up and sold as singles if you are interested in trying something but don't want to commit to the whole pack. Highly recommended.

The customer service experience from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out makes you want to come back. I love the guys here at the East Paris location. There is another over on Cascade a couple of miles away. More testament to their success as a beer/liqour store.

They have great knowledge of beers and wines. They also sell liqour and cigars of various kinds. Their biggest focus is on the beer and wine. For the most part, they have a great selection including some hard to find beers. If you name one that they don't have, they'll do their best to try and track it down for you.

Rishi and his crew are fit for the task of giving you great advice, recommendations and more. The only thing they could probably do more is to include home brewing information/start up materials.

Great store!

My only gripe although it may be perceived is that I think prices here were slightly higher than other places (hence not a pefect score). Otherwise service was first class all the way, perhaps the best ever in that regard and they had very good selection... maybe only missing a couple I found in other places. If I can recall, they allowed singles, but by that time I really wanted some Shorts (although I did pick up some singles from smaller breweries as well). If you need something and don't want to look around, this is a great place. Did I mention the exceptional customer service there? Seriously, the people who work there you would like to sit and have a beer with. Probably will be back again if in the area.

Rashi is very friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable of his beers and what is current and going on in the craft beer world as well as very knowledgeable of his wines. Will always welcome when you walk in no matter what the Grand Rapids winter may throw at you. If he doesnt have something he will let you know if he can get it or if it is even distributed in Michigan. I became one of his regulars and will miss that now that I had to move away to Seattle. The beer selection is large, as he is expanding to a larger space in Jan. 2014. Go here if you are in the Grand Rapids area, you wont be let down.

Stopped by on my way through for the KBS release party at Founders.

Very impressed with this place. They had a great selection of Michigan beers as would be expected (Founders, Bells, Short's, etc.) as well as a great selection from across the US. All 6 packs could be broken up and purchased as individual bottles, which allowed me to grab a great selection of Short's beer, which they had a lot of.

The service here is what really makes it stand out. I wish I had gotten the guy's name that was behind the counter. He was extremely helpful with beer suggestions and VERY FRIENDLY. It seemed like he had personally tried every single beer he was selling! I will definitely return here some day.

Prices were average.

This is probably my favorite place in town. As soon as you walk in the door you're in the Belgian section. What's not to like about that :) They seem to have a great selection. Pretty much anything that's available in west michigan can be found there (if you're quick enough).

The staff is awesome. I recently went in to buy some "birthday beers." They were out of on in particular that I was looking for and the man behind the counter (Rishi - he's super cool) quickly jumped out front to suggest some alternatives.

Great shop, if you're in the area you have to check them out.

Stopped into this place on a getaway with the wife to Michigan. Its a small store and you can feel a little cramped when looking through all of the beer that they have because it feels like the aisles are smaller than normal.

Other than that, everything was great. Rishi knows a ton about good beer and as soon as I asked a question about beer he came out from behind the cashiers desk, shook my hand as well as my wifes, introduced himself and helped me look throughout the store.

Selection was very strong, very impressed with their collection of Southern tier brews, belgian imports, and other imports. Because the place is becoming well known I think all of the "whales" fly out of there quickly, so there was no chance to find a hidden gem or anything like that, but I was very pleased with his knowledge and the selection. Everything seemed very well priced as well.

Overwhelming at first, the owner (Rishti) helped me navigate the selection and helped me find the perfect mix pack. Also, I'm lost with wine and he helped me pick out a bottle that blew my family away! Huge selection of all kinds of alcohol - Beer selection was very cool. I can highly recomend Rishti and International Beverage. Plus, Getting great leads on FB that I haven't been able to find around anywhere else - Thanks Rishti - look forward to returning!

Visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon in October 2011.

Atmosphere: attractive layout, wine and spirits at the front, beer in the back. We were the only ones in the store so I had plenty of room to move around and browse.

Service: at first the clerk seemed a bit indifferent; however, after we chatted for a while he dug out some fresh Centennial IPA for me and recommended a couple Michigan lagers for my girlfriend's dad (it was his birthday).

Selection: comparable to Siciliano's and larger than most stores that I've come across in the Great Lakes region. I grabbed bottles of Bell's Pale Ale, Oarsman, Lager Beer, and Octoberfest, Flying Dog Gonzo Imperial Porter, Founders Curmudgeon and Pale Ale, Shiner Bock, North Coast Brother Thelonious, and Ommegang Three Philosophers, among many other beers. A half-case of singles and two 6-packs came to $48, which is reasonable in my books.

Overall: a great alternative to the competition with very fair prices. Picked up a few gems that I couldn't find elsewhere and left for Graydon's a happy camper. Check this place out.

Went in with high expectations based on the other reviews, and those expectations were met.

Quality: good. Nothing too dusty or dirty to indicate they had been sitting for too long. I've had just a few of the dozen I bought there, but all have been fresh.

Service: Rishi really is top notch when it comes to friendly help in a beer store. Went in looking first for craft cans, and he reeled off a list off the top of his head that turned out to be complete (note to boaters and beachers who need their good beer available in cans: they don't carry any more canned brands than the norm for the area).

Selection: very good. Found and bought several brands that I haven't seen down here in Kzoo. Most BA'ers will love that Rishi encourages mixing up your own six packs from his wide selection.

Value: on par with the market.

Wish I lived closer...if I did I would be a regular.

Great selection of Michigan beers, the best I have seen in the western part of the state. Most everything is available as a single. Prices were $1.99 to $2.49 for typical 12 oz singles, but great to be able to taste more of the variety when you're just traveling through.

Good selection of regional and well-known breweries from all over the country. Surprising variety of Colorado bombers and Southern Tier, for instance. Belgians and many others. While most of the less-ordinary beers are not cold, they seem to be cool enough. The popularity of the place may keep the turnover going and the beers fresh.

Service is about as good as it gets. Friendly inquiry if you need any help. Leave you along to browse. Immediate help with any questions. Suggestions based on beers you've brought up to the counter. Jolly and seemingly delighted that you've shared their afternoon. Carry the stuff out to your car. Thanks, great to go to a place where the customer seems to be an important part of the business model!

I was recommended by a friend a few years back to stop by this store and have each time when I've been in the area. Each time it seems like a new adventure as no matter when I go in there are always something new to try and to check out.

One can be amazed on how many different styles, brands and the great selection offered by this place. When walking into the store, you're presented with a great selection of Belgian imports and more abv per beer styles on the right. When walking towards the back you're presented with a huge selection of local, imports and "domestic" styles. Pretty much something for everyone. Also love the fact that you can make your own 6 packs, which is perfect for trying new things

the service is exceptional too..each time I've been there, I was greeted with a friendly hello and each of the clerks were very helpful. The owner especially knows his beer and do what he can to make sure that you're happy and find what you need. A true definition of great service

the only problem I have of the place, which I just noticed mainly yesterday when I went, was the overall quality of product being presented. I picked up at least 5 beers that had an "best by" date of early this past spring, one even being jan! Now normally that's not a problem if they are great beers to age...but these were regular seasonals and normal beers such as Shorts Black Licorice. Judging by how the selections were combed over, it kind of surprised me that the stock wasn't more maintained, let alone up to date

Overall not a bad place to go and a great place to get new beers that just are arriving..just make sure to look at the dates before purchasing though and enjoy!

another late review...I visited the shop on Thanksgiving weekend 2011 while visiting family in Grand Rapids.

We rolled over to the shop mainly to pick out a selection of stouts for my sister-in-law to try out (she is new to bigger beers). We found a great selection of Michigan beers (coming from Georgia, it was nice to see Short's and New Holland) and many other good domestics (i didn't really get a chance to check out the Euro selection)...basically the perfect scenario for someone who wanted to try a bunch of new beers. We built a few six packs and grabbed a few bombers and then struck up a conversation with Rishi.

Needless to say, Rishi knows his beer! Above all, getting to chat with Rishi about availability and recommendations is what really made this trip worth while. I look forward to another visit the next time i am in Grand Rapids.

I had high expectations going in after hearing the good things that Sweemzander had to say on our way there from Martha's.
They were met.
There was beer all over the place inside this seemingly standard liquor store. This place is one of the reasons I try to go into every little dumpy looking liquor store I see; a total diamond in the rough. From memory, beer took up close to half the store and was, for the most part, stored in the back. The only complaint that I can really give to this place is the storage of imports and Belgian beer right near the front windows. Yeouch.

Besides that, there were coolers lining the back walls but most of the stock was on shelves. Another great surprise was that you could take any bottle from any six pack and make your own mix pack. They charged a small premium for that, but it's a price I was willing to pay for some of the stuff I snagged there.

From the quick notes I jotted down there was DFH Burton Baton, Harpoon, Great Divide, Flying Dog, tons of Bell's (lots of Hopslam), Founders, and the like. Avery, and a few local breweries I had never heard of before.

Along the top of the fridges read a sign, "Home of the lowest prices allowed by law. *750 ml and above" I laughed at first, but the prices were pretty solid, competition-wise.

I already forget the gentleman's name who worked behind the counter, but he was pretty awesome to talk to. Helpful right away and talked about the store as well as some of his personal preferences on beers.

Again, it's another stop I'll probably have to make when I'm in Grand Rapids. If not to pick up beer, to at least say hi and chat for a bit. Highly recommended but be careful of the beer close to the front windows.

Part of a well planned Grand Rapids beer expedition. Nice selection. Had some things I didn't find at Siciliano's. Probably need to hit up both to find everything you're looking for. Adam was very helpful, knew his beers very well. Picked up the stout series from Dark Horse that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Lots of Michigan beers, Belgians, Lagunitas. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Picked up about two cases of Michigan beers and some other tasty offerings I hadn't found elsewhere. Overall definitely worth a stop to fill your trunk with beer.

Stopped in on a whim, after checking on ba for local beer shops I hadn't yet checked out.

The front of the store was mostly wine, but the back is filled with plenty of great selections. Not a lot of cooler space, most of the selections were warm on the shelf. Not a huge deal, but they could benefit from more cold selections. Picked up an empty 6 pack, and filled it up. All Founders 6-packs were priced on sale, always a good thing. Also noticed 6-packs of Hopslam were 15.99, about $5 cheaper than most other places I've seen. Noticed a selection of Jolly Pumpkin Ales, and picked one up to try. Got to the counter, and the man behind it introduced himself and his co-worker. I believe Rishi and Adam. Shook my hand, and complimented my beer selections. Wanted to make sure I let him know what I thought of the Jolly Pumpkin Dark Dawn Stout. Ended up signing up for their mailing list, and they promised to send out notifications whenever rare beers came in.

Very friendly, enthusiastic service. I will be returning to check out what other great selections they may have next time.
