This place was representing hardcore with huge Founders posters adorning the windows. Inside you can find a decent chunk of brews. Full cases of Founders were stacked on the floors. I think they had most of the Dark Horse family ( notably Thirsty Trout that I had not run into prior to stopping in ). A semi rectangle of warm sixers representing a fair selection lies across from the cooler. Nothing to get all excited about really. They have a little import section which I passed up in favor of checking out the American areas. The cooler didn't have much going on inside. Most of the stock was on the warm shelf. No friggin singles except for some foreign stock immediately inside the door. This is disappointing. I did not see anything there that I wanted a quantity of, so I made no purchase. An alright place to go if you want commonly found sixpacks. Nothing to call mom about.

Made it here for the first time a few weeks ago while looking for more Short's brews. It was the first place that I was able to find many of the beers that I was looking for, i.e. Short's smoked apple, golden rule, liberator and Dark Horse Plead the Fifth. They have good prices and selection of stuff.

The only real issue that I have is the cooler space being wasted with macro beer, but I understand that not everyone that comes in is looking the same great beers that I am.

Great stop along 28th street

International beverage is probably my favorite beer store in the actual city of GR; they have a good selection (not as big as Siciliano's, but better stuff in my opinion) and the service is really good - they'll take to you for hours about beers if you want to. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, I plan to do most of my beer shopping here in the future. Pricewise I would say that they are similar to other area beer stores, maybe a little bit higher than Siciliano's but cheaper than B&B down on 28th street.

Q- This place packs a lot of beer in a small space. They had every macro and a great amount of craft beers as well.

S-Guy at the counter gave me recommendations with very beer I picked out (ageing, drink now) as well as the tasting notes to go with it. Everything seemed stocked to the brim

S-Best selection of Short's I found in Michigan. They had alot of the other MI brewers as well. Tons of Bells and Foudners, Arcadia, etc. Highly recommend this place.

V-Very reasonable and This would be my go-to if I leaved nearby

I was recommended by a friend a few years back to stop by this store and have each time when I've been in the area. Each time it seems like a new adventure as no matter when I go in there are always something new to try and to check out.

One can be amazed on how many different styles, brands and the great selection offered by this place. When walking into the store, you're presented with a great selection of Belgian imports and more abv per beer styles on the right. When walking towards the back you're presented with a huge selection of local, imports and "domestic" styles. Pretty much something for everyone. Also love the fact that you can make your own 6 packs, which is perfect for trying new things

the service is exceptional too..each time I've been there, I was greeted with a friendly hello and each of the clerks were very helpful. The owner especially knows his beer and do what he can to make sure that you're happy and find what you need. A true definition of great service

the only problem I have of the place, which I just noticed mainly yesterday when I went, was the overall quality of product being presented. I picked up at least 5 beers that had an "best by" date of early this past spring, one even being jan! Now normally that's not a problem if they are great beers to age...but these were regular seasonals and normal beers such as Shorts Black Licorice. Judging by how the selections were combed over, it kind of surprised me that the stock wasn't more maintained, let alone up to date

Overall not a bad place to go and a great place to get new beers that just are arriving..just make sure to look at the dates before purchasing though and enjoy!

Stopped in on a whim, after checking on ba for local beer shops I hadn't yet checked out.

The front of the store was mostly wine, but the back is filled with plenty of great selections. Not a lot of cooler space, most of the selections were warm on the shelf. Not a huge deal, but they could benefit from more cold selections. Picked up an empty 6 pack, and filled it up. All Founders 6-packs were priced on sale, always a good thing. Also noticed 6-packs of Hopslam were 15.99, about $5 cheaper than most other places I've seen. Noticed a selection of Jolly Pumpkin Ales, and picked one up to try. Got to the counter, and the man behind it introduced himself and his co-worker. I believe Rishi and Adam. Shook my hand, and complimented my beer selections. Wanted to make sure I let him know what I thought of the Jolly Pumpkin Dark Dawn Stout. Ended up signing up for their mailing list, and they promised to send out notifications whenever rare beers came in.

Very friendly, enthusiastic service. I will be returning to check out what other great selections they may have next time.

International Beverage has a decent selection with single service and reasonable prices. The man behind the counter seems to be enthusiastic about brews, and plays jazz in the store, which is always a plus. One major flaw with this place is that they break apart gift packs to sell the glassware... Despicable. I get all of my bar supplies through these gift packs, and they are Cheating us out of the deal. That said, they have a decent selection of Belgian and English ales, and a great variety of Michigan brews. the German selection is a bit scarce though. Overall, worth a trip.

Read the reviews and stopped by on the way from the airport to the beach. As with many of the good beer stores, it is located in a plain vanilla strip center, the exterior offering no clue as to what lies within.

A nice selection of Belgians and other single bombers right upon entering. A good offering of Michigan brews as well.

Decently organized with friendly service on a Saturday morning. Left with 3 bombers and a 4 pack of Devil Dancer.

Siciliano's seems to have a larger selection but IBS did not feel as cramped. Siciliano's is also on the west side of town while IBS is over by the airport on the east.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I visited this establishment while visiting my niece over the fourth of July weekend. The store, located in a strip-mall, is small but every inch of the establishment is utilized well. As someone has already pointed out, you are greeted by single bottles of imports as soon as you enter. The craft/micro selection is in the back of the store and is a bit haphazard and overwhelming. The cooler section is packed and includes about four doors of offerings. The warm selections are on shelfs and large carts and not in any order. However, it is enjoyable to take some time and discover what is available: all of the standard Michigan offerings as well as Anchor brewing and Bear Republic. I was surprised to see Victory brewing company and Stoudts represented. I also have to echo an earlier reviewer's caveat, there are some selections that are clearly past their prime. While I was there no employee asked me if I needed help and I did not go out of my way to seek assistance. The only other place I visted was the Meijer store down the road, and it was also very impressive.

Part of a well planned Grand Rapids beer expedition. Nice selection. Had some things I didn't find at Siciliano's. Probably need to hit up both to find everything you're looking for. Adam was very helpful, knew his beers very well. Picked up the stout series from Dark Horse that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Lots of Michigan beers, Belgians, Lagunitas. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. Picked up about two cases of Michigan beers and some other tasty offerings I hadn't found elsewhere. Overall definitely worth a stop to fill your trunk with beer.

Atmosphere: It doesn't matter who is behind the counter, I always feel more than welcome when I walk in. I like spending time here although it can get crowded very quickly.

Quality: Every bottle in the store looked fresh, no overly dusty stuff. No hidden corners in here that it looks like a beer could be forgotten for a long period of time. The cooler is filled with a lot of BMC stuff, but half of it is micros.

Service: The help here is great. Greeted with a handshake and a smile after the first couple visits. I always browse a little and ask for some recommendations and the employees seem to know every beer (and wine) in and out. They always ask how I enjoyed my last purchase.

Selection: IBS always has lots of locals, mainly Bells, Founders, and Shorts. They also have plenty of the harder to find stuff, but they always go fast. I can always count on this place to have a few bottles that I can't find anywhere else. They store is fairly small, but what they do have is great.

Value: Good, not great. A little on the higher end when compared to some of the other stores that I visit.
