This is a cool bottle shop with a great selection. They get a lot of special things in, and they do collaborations with local breweries and put them on draft at the store. There’s a nice long communal table to enjoy one of their rare tap beers. Their anniversary beer was absolutely outstanding. This bottle shop is older than and owned by the same people who own Brouwer’s.

Bottleworks is a Seattle beer institution, but they have some stiff competition these days. Where they shine is the depth of their cellar and their special relationships with breweries up and down the West Coast (and probably beyond). Their anniversary events and beers are legendary. I'm not crazy about the dark, cave-like atmosphere (or the choice of music most days) and their 21+ policy is a bit inconvenient if I want to just run in and grab a few bottles but have the kid in tow. But if a certain beer comes out you can almost be assured that BW will have it -- and also that they'll likely sell out before any other store in town. Staff is helpful if you need help. Prices are on par with other places.
