I just moved up to Seattle, and one of the first places I stopped by was Bottleworks. There isn't much that I can add to what other people have said; the selection is world class, and the people are friendly and helpful. All I can say is that when I walked in and looked around, I nearly soiled my pants. In addition to the splendid beer selection, they have a small selection of nice beer glasses, and they had some t-shirts as well. If you are in Seattle and need to buy some beer, you are doing yourself a tremendous disservice if you do not go to Bottleworks.

Bottleworks is a Seattle beer institution, but they have some stiff competition these days. Where they shine is the depth of their cellar and their special relationships with breweries up and down the West Coast (and probably beyond). Their anniversary events and beers are legendary. I'm not crazy about the dark, cave-like atmosphere (or the choice of music most days) and their 21+ policy is a bit inconvenient if I want to just run in and grab a few bottles but have the kid in tow. But if a certain beer comes out you can almost be assured that BW will have it -- and also that they'll likely sell out before any other store in town. Staff is helpful if you need help. Prices are on par with other places.
