Dropped in on a Saturday morning over Memorial Day weekend. Located on a street with lots of other little shops and restaurants, looks like a fun little neighborhood. Not a very big place at all. When I first walked it seemed a little dark but oce my eyes adjusted it had a deent feel to the place. I am always a fan of beercentric and beer only stores and this is certainly one of those. Small bar in the back that had 6 or so taps. Lots of Hair of the Dog and a few other miscellaneous.

Coolers line both walls and a few other random displays sitting around. Great selection of Washington and Oregon stuff; I certainly got my NW hops fix on the trip. Random gems sitting around as well; Lost Abbey Deliverance; RR Salvation; Stone VE 03.03.03. Cetainly had a nice mix of things. The section of Belgians was real nice as well' picked up a couple of gueuzes I had not tried before.

While it didnt quite live up to the hype that i had built for it, it certainly didnt dissapoint either. A great store with quite the selection and certainly a must stop if you are ever in Seattle.

Bottleworks is a Seattle beer institution, but they have some stiff competition these days. Where they shine is the depth of their cellar and their special relationships with breweries up and down the West Coast (and probably beyond). Their anniversary events and beers are legendary. I'm not crazy about the dark, cave-like atmosphere (or the choice of music most days) and their 21+ policy is a bit inconvenient if I want to just run in and grab a few bottles but have the kid in tow. But if a certain beer comes out you can almost be assured that BW will have it -- and also that they'll likely sell out before any other store in town. Staff is helpful if you need help. Prices are on par with other places.
