Pours to a cloudy orange color with a thin white head that will float on top of the beer and leave a little lacing on glass as you drink.

Has a wheat aroma with with fruity under tones like citrus and bananas.

Has a sweet bready malt taste with some lemon in there as well. You get some yeast in the after taste.

Is a medium bodied brew with a good carbonation balance.

A very refreshing brew that you could drink many of!

Pours a cloudy, orange color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, orange peel, and grain. Fits the style of a Hefeweizen. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, slight sweet malt, slight orange peel, hint of coriander, and grain in the finish. Overall, weak body, little bitter, not a great blend.

I didn't hate this beer, but I expect more from a brew pub. I had to beg the waiter not to serve me a frozen mug with fruit. Not the beer's fault, but it destracts from the experience. Lighter color than most hefe types that I've seen. Some cloudiness was noticed. The flavor was somewhat weak and there was no mouthfeel to speak of. It had a watery sensation to it that is not right for a hefeweizen. None of the banana/clove flavors, but that is typical of an American version. I would have one again, but only if it's free.

Pours a pretty, hazy orange with a very nice head. Goes downhill after that.

Smells like almost nothing. There's just the tiniest hint of malt against soapy nothingness. It tastes very much the same. There's a small taste of stale wheat (not wheat malt, mind you, simply wheat), against a background of big, bland malt, and there's a really funky chemical aftertaste.

This beer makes me feel like I've drank a glass full of soapsuds and it only tastes slightly better than a glass full of soapsuds.

Served in a 22-ounce mug @ Beck's Brewpub. Tried once with a lemon, and the second time without for review.

Appearance: Beck's interpretation of an unfiltered hefeweizen is a typical cloudy, pale yellow color that one would expect from the style. Off-white head looks very good to start, but does recede somewhat quickly to a thin cap, leaving decent lace on the glass. Little yeast sediment noticed as I was drinking, but there was a bit left in the bottom of the glass when I was done.

Smell: Soft wheat aroma with nice fruity (citrus, banana) hints. Nothing extremely complex that stands out but overall it smells delicious.

Taste: Sweet, bready taste with the malts leaving a very smooth, fruity taste on the palate. The wheat flavor dominates and there are some nice lemony notes on the tongue as well. Some lingering yeast flavors but not much for an aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a very creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is present but not overdone. Thirst-quenching and fairly smooth.

Drinkability: A drinkable and refreshing hefeweizen. Would be a decent summer brew. Not a pinnacle of the style, by any means, but a solid American interpretation of a hefeweizen. Even after a 22-ouncer, I couldn't have just one..I'll likely be back in the next few days to sample it again.
