Dark opaque brown almost black. Half finger light tan head. Lacing is good.
Chocolate cake, vanilla (icing?) Brown sugar, slight coffee.
Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, brown sugar. Birthday cake in a cup. It's very interesting and very good.
Medium bodied, good carbonation.

From notes after enjoying a pint of "chocolate birthday cake" on tap in Guelph yesterday, so hope I am reviewing the correct beer. Absolutely delicious! Tasted much more robust than 4.2% ABV so I wouldn't be surprised if this were a newer version of a previous "one-off".
Beautiful clear beer that looks black until held up to the light, with a creamy coffee-coloured head and impressive lacing. Delightfully silky mouthfeel without being oily or cloying. Aroma of roasted choclate malts.
A pleasantly sweet taste with an underlying dry backbone. The chocolate flavours lingered for an extensive and impressive aftertaste.
A beer I'd highly recommend!

Tap at Volo, into a pint glass. Labelled as Netherworld Birthday Cake, but assuming it's the same as the one listed on the brewery website.
Pours an almost black, with a few lighter notes. Tan head, with some moderate retention. Nose is of cocoa, milk chocolate covered blackberries and cherries. Tons of black forest cake comprises the nose, I even get a sense of the icing here. Fantastic, and true to the name. Taste follows the nose, with a rich black forest cake type flavour, and some underlying pine. Reminiscent of the Netherworld BIPA, wouldn't be surprised if that's the base beer in one way or another. The berries again are prominent in the flavour. Mouthfeel is soft and velvety, a bit creamier would've been awesome. Drinkability was real good. One of the best I've had from these guys, barring the Smashbomb.
