Had this one on tap at the Black Hole in Waterloo. Nice place ;
The beer looks good, chestnut brown with a light caramel head.
This is a complex beer, lots of maltiness, a bit of toasty chocolate malt even though this is a dark to medium brown beer. Not a tonne of hop aromas, but it is definitely nice and bitter. The alcohol, malt and hops are in harmony, something that becomes even more important when there is this much going on.
Good job Flying Monkeys, pushing the envelope on this one. Looking forward to seeing more exciting stuff from these guys.

Draught at Gambrinus. Deep chestnut with ruby hues, pours a cloudy and fluffy cap of off-white head. Lacey. Intensely hopped nose is very herbal, almost minty and floral, a bit catty with hints of sauvignon blanc, leading to toasty, and roasty aromas. Interesting. Quite bitter, with earthy sweet caramel malts backing up the hops. Astringent, full bodied, slick mouthfeel. Lengthy floral hop finish with lingering toasty notes. Very good work.
