Stopped in to this place because it was on the way to where I was going...
The store is clean, neat and well-organized.
The beer selection is in the back after rows of wines and liquors.
There are two long rows - one refrigerated and one warm. There was quite a bit of a selection of crafts and imports. There were a few imports I have not heard of. The crafts were pretty much the standards for around here, but there was a pretty wide variety of them.
On my way to the front, someone asked if I wanted help, and he took the time to go to the back and talk about the selection with me.
Being so close in distance to Oak Tree, I can see how it can be overshadowed. But, on its own, it has a much better-than-average selection. Worth stopping in if on Rte.1 and don't have time to go to Oak Tree, or if you are not looking for anything hard-to-find in particular.

Being a former Rutgers New Brunswick undergraduate student, I commuted to the campus on a daily basis and happened to come by this location while taking an alternate route home through nearby Edison which is right outside New Brunswick... A busy, relatively large store that had a great selections of all types of alcohol products, their beer selection was located way in the back,... there selection was really good, a lot of different microbreweries and crafts to choose from... the prices were somewhat reasonable, didn't see anything too expensive or over-priced... the service was good, had one person ask me if I needed help, but the person at the register was pretty cold and unfriendly... a decent place...

Easy to find right off Route1 in the Wick Plaza. When you walk in the store is loaded with wine and spirits up front, the beer is located towards the back. The store was fairly neat and clean, but it looks like it leans towards the cheap beer / lottery ticket clientel base on the other patrons I saw in the store.
The cold beer selection was leaning towards macro selections, but there are a good number of usual NJ beer store micros like Victory, DFH, Flying Fish, etc. The warm beer aisle had a few different beers, like Heavyweight and Climax. But the shelves only has a four or less of sixpacks for each variety. Not an overwhelming selection either. No real 12 oz. singles section, only bombers.
Someone was stocking the shelves while I was reviewing the warm selections, and offered no hello or conversation. This person actually walked in front of me to push a sixer on the shelf.
It looks like there is some input from Oak Tree Buy Rite from the beers I saw here, because they were a smaller subset (and quantity) of what was in Oak Tree during a recent visit.
With Oak Tree not far away, that's the place to go in Edison. If you are local and in need of a decent micro, you'll find it here. I wouldn't make a trip here if you are from out of town.

For all the fanfare in the reviews I've seen on here this is really just an average neighborhood liquor store. Nothing impressive about the selection. One wall of some micros/local stuff but the shelf is sparsely filled and there's no out of the ordinary micros. No singles to speak of. Also, not one clerk greeted us entering the store even though it was empty, and two employess walked right by my friend and I by the micros and didn't utter a word. Basically a place to stop and pick up a cold case if you need one in a hurry and you live closebey.
In the area to go buy beer? Head over to the Buy-Rite on Oak Tree road. It's waaaay more than worth the trip.

stopped in here today looking for some singles. I must say i was dissappointed. after reading the reviews that are posted i expected something in comparison to oak tree buy rite since there is a relationship between the two but there really isn't any comparison. They have one wall with three shelves in the back with six packs from some different east coast breweries but nothing worth making a trip for. i didn't see any singles on the wall. If you're in the area and you need something quick then it's not bad but you might as well just go to the one in s.plainfield. Service is nothing to write home about. no one asked us for help. Nothing special
