Roosterfish Brewing Company....Watkins Glen, NY.

After an awesome hike at the beautiful and nearby Watkins Glen State Park the wife and I came here to enjoy some brew before the trip home. Situated on a quiet block in the downtown area.

Small wooden area with lots of booths and a small bar with taps of the beer, warm service. Cool photos all over the place.

They listed all their beers but were missing their flagship Blonde. Oh well, I had the Brown Ale and the Hefeweizen, both were very well done, nice interpretations of the style and very fresh. I had pizza and ribs from the menu (hungry after the hike) and both were excellent. Wife enjoyed the chicken sandwich as well.

Service was attentive and very nice. No complaints at all.

Overall, really enjoyed the trip and this is worth a stop, great beer, good food and brilliant location. Do yourself a favor and do a double visit to the park and the brewpub, you shouldn't be disappointed. (951 characters)

Quaint interior with a down to earth, pub ambiance. Staff and service are OK, but vary widely. They won't fill a half growler?! Beers are really good overall and they've got a good selection to choose from (10-12, I think). The food sounds better than it tastes, but to be fair it sounds really awesome. Pub food with personality and a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Beer menu is well made and they have a handy tasting sheet so you can easily tell them what you want and always know which is which. Nice place, overall. (524 characters)

Stopped in for dinner while on a Finger Lakes brewery tour. An outstanding selection of beers. There was inside and outside seating. very cool garage doors to the outside. Food was awesome. If you like BBQ stop in. Lots of beer selections, something for all tastes. They had a band starting just as dinner finished, wished we could have stayed longer. (351 characters)

Stopped in here for lunch on my birthday trip to Ithaca.

The beer selection was alright. Nothing crazy on tap, but all of their usual suspects. Rooster Fish beer runs from average to bland to me most of the time. Drinkable, but I wouldn't seek it out. Hop Warrior and Cocoa Porter were the best I tried.

The food was better. They claimed to use all local ingredients, and it made for a very tasty experience. Salad and burger was great.

The service was satisfactory. Refilled sodas and waters at a good pace. The atmosphere was alright as well, the place was a little too dark at times. (590 characters)

Long time restaurant (Wildflower Café) is now known for the brewpub but it is good pub grub and a "happening" place in Watkins Glen - old-timey English phone booth out front. Music often on weekends and the place can get really jammed in the summer but off season is very pleasant way to spend an evening in a fairly British-type pub atmosphere. (346 characters)

We stopped in here on 8/2/2011 while on vacation.
Small dimly lit restaurant on the left side and a dimly lit bar on the right side. This place takes up two store fronts that are connected in the front with a small passageway by the front windows. We ate an early dinner in the restaurant half. Service was a little confused, but once things got rolling we were taken care of. The staff even prepared a cake for my daughter who turned 7 that day. The food was good, a step above pub food, but it was a bit pricy. The beer I had I really enjoyed. If I were ever in Watkins Glen again I would definitely stop by again. (616 characters)

A group of four of us walked in here late in the afternoon on Saturday for dinner after I took my Harley around the Watkins Glen racetrack for a few laps (thats another story).

We decided to sit in a booth on the brewpub side as opposed to the Wildflower Cafe side, which has similar booths and tables. A bit dimly lit but enjoyed the view of the brewing equipment.

Not a huge selection of beer other than their own but understandable since they would rather you drink what they brew. Good selection of locally produced Finger Lakes area wine for those crazy non-beer drinkers. And enough variety of food to satisfy most.

Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable in both the food and drinks on the menu. I opted for the flight rack with only five 4oz samples instead of the full eight. C'mon I was only on two wheels that day. Without writing full reviews on 4oz samples, I will say the darker brews were much better than the lighter ones. Esp the Nut Brown and Coffee Stout.
For food I had the Jambalaya which was very good.

Overall I'd say this place is worth a little extra drive if in the area and would def recommend to anyone. (1,145 characters)
