I just came back from Greece and this Mythos beer was amazing. I had one every day.

Typical green-bottle euro lager. Paired really well with my feta cheese pizza though, and I could see it being a good and super refreshing beach beer.

500ml bottle with dinner in Athens.
Compared to the widely familiar Heineken, this beer is softer, with a higher malt/hops ratio. It's modestly less bitter and slightly less carbonated. No skunky tones. Rather average.

Wasn't expecting much but I am pleasantly surprised. Very refreshing. Beats the hell out of the other choices available in this Greek restaurant. Would be a nice beer for a back yard BBQ on a hot summer day.

I am drinking this from a green bottle poured into a lager glass in April 2015. The bottle has a 10-2015 best by date which is hillariously optimistic.
L: Brilliant straw with a 2” lacy white foam cap.
S: There is a slight skunk, most of which I am able to swirl out. Light malts and a light sweetness with some corn lie behind the skunk.
T: The beer is grainy, a little sweet with an undercurrent of something harsh and chemically. The aftertaste is minerally with a sharp, unpleasant aftertaste.
F: Light bodied with above average carbonation.
O: There is very little good I can think of to say about this beer.

Bright straw color with strong activity. White 2 finger head lasting around 5 minutes with good legs.

Faint aromas and flavors of corn, grains, citrus, herbal spices. Crispy sharp taste of lemon with minimal sweetness, slightly skunky with a faint saaz feel.

Light body with prickly carbonation. Faint and short finish ending with a slightly smoky herbal feel on the tongue.

Overall a poor craft having weak watery flavors thus overly accessible. Though very refreshing for a hot summer day.

Pours a clear deep straw with effervescence rising, producing 3 fingers of white, shortlived head that leaves a surface coating of foam & no lacing. Aroma is grain & biscuit, grass & lemon notes, with a floral & skunky note. Taste is crisp biscuit/cracker malt, lemon, grass & skunk. The skunkiness increases & is dominant in the finish & rides over into the aftertaste. The skunk has to be a product of the green glass bottle & time. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, crisp & smooth with a faint prickle.

Cool bottle but hardly stuff of the gods, barely better than the usual faux lager

This drinks like so many Pilsner styles from Europe, with a bit of cracker, rice, light cereal malt and that all too often skunk. Easy to drink, to the point of watery it's a decent pairing with a Gyro.

I HAD BOTTLE:
Im not a fan of American pale OR India pales, so this was a pleasant change. First two sips I didn't like. A bit ashy. But ended up enjoying the way it went down. Not too bitter. Not too heavy. Glad I had bought two! The taste gets better and better.

Unappealing pale yellow colour. Tastes faintly of cigarette ash. Probably more enjoyable in a hotter climate.

Review: Can of Mythos pale lager 4.7% ABV

Another surprise, never thought I would be loving a Greek beer, but this is a good smooth and refreshingly tasty beer.

Appearance is good, a nice clear pale yellow beer with a nice head developing but it does dissipate quickly. Good lacing though.

No clear smell was found, maybe slightly sweet and a small hint of cooked corn and grassy hops.

Taste was sweet, no bitterness, was fairly smooth to drink, and a teeny bit strong too. Recommended.

Format: an embossed green 330mL bottle with a standard macro label.

Appearance: a fairly light yellow colour with moderate visible carbonation. A pretty lifeless head fritters away to virtually nothing.

Aroma: just a small amount of light grains on the nose - not much else at all.

Taste: a light grain sweetness without any hops. Pretty boring, but still wet on a hot day.

Aftertaste: disappears quickly, which is no surprise after the lack of flavour.

Mouth feel: quite light in feel with a higher carbonation. Feels a bit thin.

Overall: another cheap Euro lager that doesn't really make the grade on aroma, flavour or feel. There are better lagers for less than $45 a case too.

Purchased as a single at the LCBO. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens like a Heineken. Pours like a Heineken. Light gold like a Heineken

S- Just like a Heineken

T- Pretty much a Heineken.

M- A Heineken all the way

O- This is a Heineken with a different name

Food Pairing

This nice Heineken clone went well with...... anything a Heineken went well with.

Enjoy

Poured from a 12OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a non-descript aroma that has corn and grain in it.
Appearance- A pale yellow color (think Heineken or BMC) with a large white head.
Taste- Has a fairly unique sweet flavor that differs from many euro brands of lagers.
Palate- A light bodied beer with medium carbonation. A different flavor of a lager, I would drink this again.

Bottle at the Macon, GA. Greek Festival. Pours yellow with a white head. Aroma of hops, grain and grass. Tastes of grass, grain, and very slightly floral. Light bodied and refreshing. Went well with my Spankopita and Dolmada. Opa!

Luckily, I was served a bottle that had not skunked yet. Not much there to taste otherwise. Cold grainy fizz to wash down some fried smelt. In that sense, I have no complaints.

A few years since I've had this one, This time it was the only local bottled beer in a restaurant in Oia, Santorini. I found it hard to finish, and it had a funny aftertaste. So not a beer I'll be revisiting anytime soon!

Basic mass produced generic lager from Greece. Had this poured out of the bottle into a pint glass in Santorini. The appearance is actually quite inviting, it pours a consistent golden yellow with little head, very crisp look to it. The taste is a little sour, it's basically the beer they have in most bars in Greece that's easy to get. The nose isn't so hot, smells a little sweet which was strange. Not so hot.

.5L green glass bottle (ugh) with uninteresting label art and branded pry-off pressure cap acquired at a local corner mart here in Thessaloniki, Greece, and served into a generic cup. Served cold. Side-poured as no carbonation issues are anticipated. 5% ABV. BB: 02/15.

No bubble show forms as it's poured.

HEAD: Pours a one finger wide head of white colour. Decent thickness and creaminess. Fair complexion and consistency. No lacing sticks to the sides of the glass as the head recedes. Head retention is average - about 2 minutes.

BODY: Clear translucent pale yellow-copper of average vibrance. No yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible. Clean.

Not a unique or special appearance for the style. Looks a bit underwhelming, but it's generally appealing overall.

AROMA: Clean barley, mild helles & pils malt sweetness, and a touch of floral hop notes. A pleasant aroma of mild strength overall. I'm optimistic, but it's not horribly appealing.

No yeast character, hop character, off-notes, or alcohol is detectable.

TASTE: Pils malts, a touch of diacetyl/buttery character, clean barley, a hint of floral hop character, and some generic helles malt sweetness. It's not imbalanced, but clearly it's not very carefully constructed. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.

I guess I like it in a general sense. As with many beers in the style, it lacks complexity, intricacy, nuance, and subtlety. There's nothing unique or special going on here, and it's largely unremarkable.

TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, light, clean, and crisp. Not overcarbonated. This texture suits the taste well enough. It's fairly executed, and I'm impressed they can do this on a large scale. It's light-bodied, with a nice overall presence on the palate. No complaints here, but it's not custom-tailored specifically to the taste by any means.

OVERALL: You've had a beer that tastes just like this before - regardless of which country you're from. It fills Greece's 'generic drinkable lager' category, and there's nothing wrong with that. I've definitely had worse, and this is refreshing in the hot summer. Hides its ABV well enough. I could have a 6-pack of this in one sitting. Surprisingly enjoyable for a beer at this price point.

Bottle purchased at the Greek Festival in Rochester, NY.

Didn't pour this out while waiting in the long line for some Greek food, but I could tell it's probably a pretty light straw color, typical of most Euro or adjunct lagers.

Doesn't smell like a whole lot, slightly sweet and perfumy smelling. Tastes like creamed corn, slight grassy hops, and sweet grainy malts. Your typical crisp and slightly sickening cheap lager flavor.

Crisp, smooth mouthfeel, slight bite from hops and carbonation near the end. Well carbonated.

This isn't horrible, but it won't break down any doors. Drinkable and mostly unoffensive.
