Bought in Poland in Lidl, this is actually around the same price as the cheap local beers, so it doesn't really save money here like it would in other countries! It's around 50 pence for a 500ml bottle...

Brewed in Germany. Let's see how it compares with all the Polish pilsners I have been drinking recently...

Very yellowy, watery, good head level initially.

Crisp hops is detectable when poured, though it becomes faint after a few seconds.

The flavour unfortunately does not really match most of the local beers here which are around same price, though in other countries it would be good value! The maltiness, hops and carbonation don't really feel at union, and there is an overall off taste that permeates the whole beer. It's kind of metallic also...strange as last time I remember this being better. It's probably the most metallic beer that I have ever tasted.

Was not expecting much, however this is possibly the worst Lidl/Aldi offering, and you can get much better Polish pilsners for the same price! It's not "Premium Pils", if you think it is then you are brainwashed by a can of beer.

A strange one from Germany. The way this Pilsner works is that it starts out kind of sweet (maybe a but too much for me…) then it suddenly turns into (hoppy?) bitter with some sticky clinging in the end.
At the same time - especially after having drank about half a pint - it starts feeling normal and you don’t really notice those things anymore.
I might have overrated this a little but still, I do think it is an alright beer.

From lidl in Harlem NYC agree with singlefin down the line taste value etc. To me it's refreshing I'll have no issues finishing the six pack in as many days.

Bought this Lidl Grocery Store for $9+tax for a six pack of 500 Ml bottles which seems like a pretty good deal
Poured from the bottle into a pint glass.
Looks golden yellow with a nice white foamy head that dropped quickly to a thin cap.
Smells lightly bready, floral, and grassy
Taste follows the nose nicely with an initial metallic flavor that went away thank goodness because that was unpleasant.
Mouth feel is medium for the style.
Overall, cheap beer that is nice for the price, but price typically is low on the list of things that drive my beer buying and I probably won't buy again as this isn't really like a Pilsener in my experience.
Although this would be great at a cookout.
Cheers!

500 ml bottle, from LIDL Norway. ABV here is 4.7%. Very pale golden colour, moderate head. Sweetish aroma, some fruit and cooked vegetables, some grass too. Very light bodied, thin mouthfeel, minimal malts, but a tolerable hoppy bitterness, which is not quite as metallic as in most other LIDL beers. Easy drinking, not offensive.

I imagine, from the tap, this beer is excellent. However, the export bottles are tinged with a metallic taste. Nice lightt hop grassyness with a hint of pepper. These American reviewers mostly appteciate only American styles. Sigh.

Oh dear, I used to like this beer from Lidl. Now though it is bland and tasteless (at 2.85 for 4x440ml cans I should have known better anyway. Now from a really good, reasonably priced beer it's is sincerely, just crap. It wasn't until I got this home that I noticed the dreaded words on the can "Brewed and filled in the UK. That explains the quality. UK brewed ales are superb, UK brewed lagers are, generally garbage. One to avoid. Try the Aldi Rheinbacher instead, at least that's still brewed in Europe.

If you like Spaten, or Hofbrau original and are looking for a similar flavor, this is for you. I love it! Very clean, smooth flavor. No stinky smell like the USA Becks, or the plastic tasting Heineken, or the soap flavored Miller GD. I am amazed however at how some drinkers bash it. Keep in mind that the bashers most likely DO NOT like a fresh clean Pilsner and most likely like those nasty IPA's with the high hoppy/bitter factor. Very inexpensive too! Purchased at a new Long Island store called LiDL

Germany brewed Perlenbacher Pilsner 0.5L six pack (4.9%) purchased at Lidl US in December, 2019. Brewer was not identified. Price before tax and deposit works out to $3.33 per liter (as of 2023 about 4.00/liter). Beer at about 45F was poured into a shaker pint. Beer is a clear gold, topped by a rocky white head. Aroma is mild and beery. Flavor has low malt body that emphasizes a good hop character. Head fades fairly quickly and leaves no lacing. Aftertaste is a lasting bitterness that I like. That's saying a lot for a German import that competes in price with ho-hum domestic products. I'll come back to this one next summer.
Note added. Some reviews of Perlenbacher specify brewed in UK. I suspect the UK version is different from the version sold in the US. Buyer beware. It appears to be a lidl private label, and different versions could be available in different countries. The 6 pack I bought recently in NY is still German made and tastes similar to my eview from a year ago.
