This robust porter is aged in port wine barrels and is a deep, dark, opaque brown/black color with a creamy looking dark tan head. The aroma is of roasted malt along with some caramel notes, as well as vanilla and sherry. The flavor consists of a robust roasted malt background that mingles with some hints of oak and vanilla that linger on your palate with just the slightest hint of sherry. Very complex, smooth and creamy... I could drink this all day long!

Woo Hoo! This is where it's at! Dark brown, nearly black color, with medium low carbonation. Scent of malt, cocoa, and coffee were noted, as was a slight hint of molassas. The flavor is awesome. I've never been real keen on Porters, but this one is great. Strong and complex, goes down smooth and creamy, FSB nailed this style right on. Finished slightly sweet, with a touch of bitterness and malt. Not as heavy as one may expect, but I would guess any more than three of these, you're gonna feel like their is a brick in your stomach. Nonetheless, this is a great beer. Highly Recommended.

From the tap at FSB.

A solid offering and a classic example of the porter style.

Nose is very roast laden, smells very much like strong black coffee. Taste follows a similar vein though there is a strong cocoa flavor as well. Mouthfeel is great, medium bodied for the style, slightly creamy. Finish boasts of more roast and a slight carbonation bite.

Overall this one is well done, finely crafted and fresh. Highly drinkable in mass quantities.

Slàinte!

Pours out of the grolwer to a dark-as-night black in the glass with a slight head. The aroma is that of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. The taste is excellent and shows off its roasted malt goodness, along with the presence of chocolate and anise. Very easy on the palate. Well crafted.
