Pours out to a light amber in the glass with an average-sized head. The aroma is the of light citrus, bread dough and a light spice of some sort. The taste is solid, with hints of banana, albeit light and clove. This finishes with a light citrus taste to it. A very solid summer beer and a quite refreshing one at that. A perfect compliment to grilled food.

In Detroit for a Mite Level Hockey Tourny and took the chance to visit the Fort Street Brewery. The Summer Sunsation was a good beer. The beer poured hazy yellow, white head, a little retention and lace. The scent carried a definite spice/clove punch with some subtle sweetness. The taste included wheat, spice/clove, a vanilla flavor with slight fruit taste. The mouthfeel was light to sligth medium body. Carbontation was good. Overall the beer was good with power spice.

good summer beer. i frequent the brewery and was pleasantly suprized to find it back on the menu. the person i was with was holding out for this beer. she has memories of the beer from last year. good times. the taste hasn't changed much. the haziness is new this year. i don't remember it being that cloudy. the flavor has a hint of bannanas and is not served with a fruit appetizer. this makes the beer almost tropical in flavor. like was said before good summer beer.

I sampled this at the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Fest.

A: Hazy straw, white head, a little retention and lace.

S: Acidulated wheat? Pineapple, vanilla, hint of cloves.

T: Lightly flavoured: wheat, bread, lemon, pineapple, slight hint of tartness/acidity.

M: Light to moderate body & carbonation.

D: Fairly light, with some interesting & refreshing flavours. Good sunshine beer.

A hefeweizen or German-style wheat beer. Made with 50% malted wheat and a special yeast strain from a brewery in Germany which imparts a subtle banana flavor. So refreshing it's been declared the official summer beverage.

This beer has a clear, deep golden color with a slight white head consisting of big bubbles. The aroma consists of a sweet malt smell along with something that smells almost like honey... all sweet. The flavor consists of a nice malt background with a very well balanced banana/clove esters, but then ends with an almost candy-like sweetness. Very different. A refreshing change from a regular hefeweizen.

On tap at FSB.

This is a solid summer beer, nothing more, nothing less. Certainly makes one think of that big name summer wheat from that company that comes out of that county that begins with a "K"

Pours a peach/amber in color, typically cloudy for the style. Nose is fresh and sweet. Taste follows suit, notes of light fruit, bananas a bit in there. Only slightly bitter, well balanced and certainly quaffable. Would and will make for a nice summer quencher for certain.

Slàinte!

Awesome beer. Had to contact the guys over at FSB to remember what style this was brewed under. Had a nice strawberry blonde like color, with a light white head that quickly dissolved. Scent of hops and sweet grain were noted. Flavor was exceptionally refreshing, with a thirst quenching conbination of hops, malt, and a noted yeast like taste. Finished smooth and cool. This is a helluva beer, wish it was year round made, but as far as I know, it's a seasonal brew. Highly Recommended.
