Really tasty bitter with a good balance of caramel malt and English hops with strong bitterness.

Deep bronze color, slightly hazy. Average white foam.
In the smell a good earthly hop, on a good malty base. Tea notes.
In the mouth, after a light maltiness, there is a good earthly bitterness, pleasant, long.
Not too drinkable (not like an english bitter), but not bad at all.

On-tap at Borefts beer festival.

A - Dark amber colored beer, no carbonation visible and with a decent white head.

S - The smell is like 'fruit vinegar', I just haven't got any other words for it.

T - The taste was actually a bit surprising as I expected a bit more from my first Närke brew. It's a nice fresh tasting beer that you can drink over and over again. Flavors; lemon and pine hops.

M - Lower carbonation, nice dry finish to complement the bitterness, smooth and creamy, good solid body. Nothing to complain about here.

D - A very reasonable thirst quencher but not really special to me.

Somewhat hazy dark amber, nearly brown color on the beer, a beige head leaving lacing.

The smell is fruity, pears, apples, malty, bread and nuts, and distinct hops.

Upfront sweet, raisins and dark bread, then oranges and lemons and a good concluding bitterness,

Medium high carbonation, a rather complex feeling, a dry finish.

A good balanced and rather complex beer.

I had this from a bottle and a keg at Narke with Hans into a Narke tulip.

The beers a really nice dark copper with a hint of dark orange. There is a tope head that rises about two fingers with good retention and thick lacing...The aroma is similar to most esbs, a very sweet slight alcoholic bitter throughout, not a ton of sweetness to balance it out, but not sure if its needs it really...The taste is better than the aroma, light sweet to start and a light bitter through your sip with a very strong bitter finish several seconds after you swallow.

This is the most popular Narke making up a third of production. I think it is very good, not their best though. Its worth trying but but for a drinker Id go with CAmarillo.

Pours quite dark in a brown amber color. Malty nose leads to the same on flavor. Slight spicy bitter taste hits over the tongue and on earthy/dirt kind of aftertaste stays. I wouldn't quite call this an easy drinker by a long shot. Much heavier than what I feel a standard bitter is. Still, it's well made. And besides, it's Närke. *cue out of control screaming shrill and shrieking voices conveying undying love and admiration*

The colour is dark brown-wine red, the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is red-ish; it leaves lots of thick lacing on the glass.

The smell is sweet with notes of treacle, bread, müsli, some bitter-fruity hops.

The taste is complex, but not heavy. Fruits and bread plus a touch of sawdust and wine gums. The aftertaste is elegant with some alcohol and strong flavours of hops, exotic fruits, sweet bread and a fresh hoppy flavour with hints of mint and honey.

The carbonation is strong, almost sharp. The liquid is dry and a bit light.

A very tasty and refreshing ale with lots of flavours.

On-tap at Glenfiddich Warehouse No. 68. Served in a tulip glass. Shared with bosse and his brother - you guys are awesome.

A - Huge billowing meringue head that took forever to dissipate - I noticed the same thing with the CAmarillo, so it must be the brewery's signature appearance or something. Tons of sticky lacing and a semi-transparent dark reddish-brown body fill out the glass.

S - The smell is nice roast malts, some caramel and biscuit, a touch of lemon and piney hops with a bit of soapiness (must be Cascade), and some fruity notes. It was probably served too cold, but it didn't leap out of the glass - still, quite nice.

T - The taste was actually a bit surprising as it exploded with roasty biscuit, milk chocolate, nuttiness, and lemon and pine hops. There's a good amount of residual bitterness but it never gets out of hand. The ESB is generally a style I don't care for all that much, and this seems to be a pretty traditional take (English-style hops, roasty, etc.) yet somehow it breathes some life into what can be a very bland style.

M - Lower carbonation, nice dry finish to complement the bitterness, smooth and creamy, good solid body. Nothing to complain about here.

D - A very reasonable 5.9% with no traces of booze. I probably should have stuck to this one instead of trying a dozen other Swedish brews - it's gonna be a tough flight I think. Another excellent brew from Närke.

Pours an darkbrown/slightly reddish color with a nice white head.

The smell is very fruity, slightly of nuts, and in particular lots of hops. Slight note of pine-needle.

The taste is of nuts, caramel, grapefruit/citrus and a great, great bitterness. There's also a slight note of sweet berries, like raspberries and wild strawberries behind the bitter "front".

Mouhtfeel is nice, not overly carbonated and it's quite filling.

Drinkability is high. This would be a great session beer a day at the pub. On the other hand, it's always funnier to taste something else also.

On tap at Akkurat in Stockholm. Beer poured a cloudy amber body with a huge, massive while head that gives the effect of an ice cream float. The top looks like a baseball submerged in my beer but luckily it didn't taste like that. There was a nice citrus, hop aroma. The taste had a nice malt presence but also a refreshing citrus hop bite as well. Filling body and overall well rounded taste. My first Narke and hopefully not my last.

Närke Kulturbryggeri must be Sweden's best brewery In my opinion. And this beer is no exception from the genuine quality of the brewery.

Colour is very dark brown with a reddish tone. Nice beige/white head that lasts for a while.

Smells really excellent, full on english hops.

Taste is really nice of bitter hop tones and some fruits too. Really nice big palate, maybe because it's straight from the cask.

This is one of those "must drink" beers from the best micro brewery in Sweden.

Draught, Glenfiddich Warehouse # 68, Stockholm, Sweden. Appears darker than expected, a rich bronze-almost brown colored beer with full foam. Juicy hop nose with sweet malts. Quite a lot of depth in the yeast and malt components, producing a variety of fruit flavors. Not a lot of describable hop character, but present. Finishes clean and lasts well in the mouth. My first Narke beer. Extremely high in quality.

Poured unpasteurised from a 500ml bottle at 12 degrees.

Appearance: Slighty murkey, tea-like colouration with a thick pillowy, vanilla tan head.

Smell - Piney notes from the Cascade hops, dark fruits (plums, raisins) with a touch of apricot. Slightly rusty smell, and a whiff of alcohol.

Taste - Great blend of Cascade and East Kent Golding hops delivers a refreshing, fruity punch. Slightly smokey finish, with lingering dark chocolate bitterness.

Mouthfeel - an initial tip-of-the-tounge fizz quickly vanishes, leaving a low carbonated, smooth slightly oily mouthfeel in keeping with the bitter style. A distinct whipcrack of hop bitterness.

Drinkability - At 5.8% this is a deceptively easy drinking premium biitter. The slightly late and lingering dry bitterness bite does shave off a point however.
