A very nice thirst quencher drunk on Midsummer evening, a celebration tradition in Sweden.

The flavor has tones of paper pulp, plastics and flavored wort with some malt and hops in it.

A great thirst quencher that is sharper than most lager beers.

pours dark golden orange with a creamy white head. Nice grain note with strong fruit behind of golden apricots and lemon. Taste doesn't live up to nose, grain is messy, a bit flabby, fruits aren't as bright, a touch of lemon and some subtle malt notes underneath. Body is light, carbonation is moderate, smooth on the throat.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down a bit but consistently left a thin head covering the surface and lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are aromas of grassy and floral hops in the nose, similar to what you could expect from an English Ale. As the beer warms up, the smell becomes stronger and aromas of fruit become equally dominant.
T: The taste shares some similarities to the smell and also has some fruity flavors from the yeast. A very light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is perfectly sessionable.

Oppigårds Golden Ale, ABV: 5.2%.
330 ml bottle, 17.50 SEK at Systembolaget.

A: A clear, beautiful, golden liquid, with a slightly off-white head - good retention.

S: Fresh, hoppy aromas meets the nose, with a nice touch of tropical fruits, citrus, apricots, honey, bread, herbs and spices.

T: Hoppy flavours, with grass and flowers, grainy bread, citrus peels, oranges, apricots, honey and spices. Medium-large hoppy bitterness, balanced with smaller malty notes.

M: Medium-sized body. A somewhat oily texture, with a nice bite. High drinkability.

O: This is nothing but an instant Swedish craft beer success - a modern classic - available at every Systembolaget store in the country. The hoppiness is just right to make a very enjoyable ale - heavy enough to make it tasty, light enough to drink more than one or two (or way more) of. My best experience with the 'Golden Ale' is from a sunny summer evening on the country-side, with good friends, barbecued steak and chili bearnaise.

Appearance- Poured with a cloudy orange/yellow hue.

Smell- Citrusy with a light flowry hop scent at the end.

Taste- Smooth yeast and light citrus flavor that developes and finishes with a hoppy almost Pale ale like bitterness.

Very good beer and different interpritation of a "golden ale/Farmhouse ale." Not bad or my first Swedish beer.

Picked up on a whim from KJ Baarons. Glad I tried it.

A - Pours a glorious light yellow colour with some nice orange hues in the center. Atop was a big two finger white head that very slowly faded to leave about a quarter inch head. Not much lacing.

S - Some nice light yeast aromas but more importantly I'm getting some really nice, potent honey aromas. Really, really good honey aromas.

T - A combination beer. A good one. Nice saison qualities intermixed with larger qualities. Yeast, floral, spice, and more of that delicious honey. Wow, I really really love this honey aroma and flavour.

M - Somewhat light on the mouthfeel. Borders on almost watery but the carbonation is just high enough to keep it from doing so.

O - Yeah, I really, REALLY enjoyed this beer. I'm not sure if the honey aspects are a usual for this style but it works so great here that I just cant get enough. My only knock is its a little pricey.

A: cloudy deep orange, slight hue of light brown, trace head, patchy lacing.

S: malt, grain, slight citrus aroma

T: malt, grain, fresh citrus flavor with a splash of bitter in the finish.

M: Medium body, smooth

D: My 1st Swedish beer and it was quite nice. Golden Ale is great session beer. Fantastic gateway beer for your apprehensive friends + family. If they are hip to euro lagers, they will love this. Look forward to tasting more Scandinavian brews.
