A very nice thirst quencher drunk on Midsummer evening, a celebration tradition in Sweden.

The flavor has tones of paper pulp, plastics and flavored wort with some malt and hops in it.

A great thirst quencher that is sharper than most lager beers.

pours dark golden orange with a creamy white head. Nice grain note with strong fruit behind of golden apricots and lemon. Taste doesn't live up to nose, grain is messy, a bit flabby, fruits aren't as bright, a touch of lemon and some subtle malt notes underneath. Body is light, carbonation is moderate, smooth on the throat.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down a bit but consistently left a thin head covering the surface and lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are aromas of grassy and floral hops in the nose, similar to what you could expect from an English Ale. As the beer warms up, the smell becomes stronger and aromas of fruit become equally dominant.
T: The taste shares some similarities to the smell and also has some fruity flavors from the yeast. A very light amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is perfectly sessionable.

Oppigårds Golden Ale, ABV: 5.2%.
330 ml bottle, 17.50 SEK at Systembolaget.

A: A clear, beautiful, golden liquid, with a slightly off-white head - good retention.

S: Fresh, hoppy aromas meets the nose, with a nice touch of tropical fruits, citrus, apricots, honey, bread, herbs and spices.

T: Hoppy flavours, with grass and flowers, grainy bread, citrus peels, oranges, apricots, honey and spices. Medium-large hoppy bitterness, balanced with smaller malty notes.

M: Medium-sized body. A somewhat oily texture, with a nice bite. High drinkability.

O: This is nothing but an instant Swedish craft beer success - a modern classic - available at every Systembolaget store in the country. The hoppiness is just right to make a very enjoyable ale - heavy enough to make it tasty, light enough to drink more than one or two (or way more) of. My best experience with the 'Golden Ale' is from a sunny summer evening on the country-side, with good friends, barbecued steak and chili bearnaise.
