RBESG 2006, bottle. Clear golden colour. Nice hoppy aroma, flowery and herbal, some vinous notes too. Flavour is reasonably hoppy. I drank it a bit too warm, must be nice and refreshing when colder.

A - Deep red colour with a clean white head that holds on for a while. You can spot some carbonation. Overall a beautiful looking beer which feels just right with the colours of autumn.

S - Apparently sweet. Some hay and hazelnut. Also a fresh touch of citrus to it.

T - The first taste I get is a fresh taste dominated by tones of citrus.
Secondly I get hay, hazelnut and caramel. Lastly I notice a subtle touch of woodland strawberry.

M - A bit dry and rugged to the palate but still fresh. Good enough carbonation.

D - High drinkablity on this one, really well balanced and not too strong. I could have quite a few of these to warm up my autumn evenings without a doubt.

Much better to serve this one cold and not let it have a chance to warm up.

Pours nicely. A clear amber gold with a small white-ish head, in my tulip. Nose seems a bit tight and I'm really having to pull to catch some very mild grass tones and a citrus edge that is not wanting to be very forthcoming. After a while it seems like lemon. The flavor is working for me. Slightly grassy and soil-like with very slight ink tones. Later on the dominating theme seems to be a peppery hop character. Maybe it just needed to open up or something. Comes across as robust and fairly hearty, for the style. I think I was expecting something lame, yellow, and fizzy. This is anything but. I will say that it's a bit rough and harsh though. If the edges were smoothed out, this would make a fine session ale.

A rather dark golden clear brew, a white head that leaves good lacing.

The smell is citric and floral, lemon, sweet oranges, fresh cut grass.

Tasting initially of sweet orange drops, white bread then aromatic bitter flavors which goes on for a long time.

Medium high carbonation, fresh, tingling and then dry.

An interesting lager, with very much APA in it.

This beer comes in an ugly-looking short-necked 50 cl brown bottle with a "classic" farmhouse from "Dalarna" in Sweden.

A: Clear golden pour with a creamy medium-large white head that slowly dissipates into really nice lacings.

S: Malt, but the bitter as well as the floral hops dominates. i'm guessing cascade due to the piney, citric feel, but there must also be some kind of European hops in this one. A faint buttery tone is present as well.

T: American and European hops in great harmony. Pieny, citric but also a noble hoppyness to it - probabaly Saaz-hops. Buttery and dry. Well balanced (Pilsener-) malt.

M: Really long and bitter aftertaste. Creamy medium-full body and smooth rich carbonation.

D: Another great beer from Oppigårds. Feels almost like a blend of Czech Pilsener and American Pale Ale (where the Czech part dominates).

Honestly, I don't see the point. With so many great spring/summer beers having come out of Oppigårds recently, including last year's Spring ale, single hop ale (which isn't very good actually, now that I think about it), indian tribute (top class) and of course, this spring's amarillo spring - I can't see why they have to go and release a eurolager like this. It's just... boring.

Oppigårds Slåtteröl is the third in a series of similar light lagers from Swedish micros that have hit the markets recently, the others being Gotlands Bryggeri's "Hansa Pils" and Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri's "Landsort Lager. All three of them are characterized by a rich and bitter hoppiness. It poured with a good golden colour, a burst of bubbles and a finger of thick foam. The smell was very fruity and full of herbs and a lemon note., telling of a rich dose of high quality hops. The taste was very bitter and grassy with notes of lemon and pear. It's a bold lager and without compromises.

The colour is gold; the foam is white, finger thick and slowly sinking leaving some lacing.

The smell is very hoppy. I found notes of bitter almonds, citric fruits (especially lemon), bitter herbs and some rather neutral malt.

The taste is first very malty, than a generous hoppyness takes over. It is then replaced with quickly passing sour malt with a good body. The aftertaste got grassy and fruity notes. And just when I thought it was over, a growing bitterness with some sour notes emerges.

The carbonation is a little bit too strong with medium sized bubbles.

There are lots of different flavours in this one. But they don’t really melt together into a whole, it is kind of… straggly? In ways it resembles of “Jämtlands Hell”, but not with the balance of that great beer.
