This is a pretty decent sized liquor store, all of the beer is in the cooler in the back. They definitely have some interesting beer, a good selection of Rogue (but I think at least a couple were discontinued quite a while back in the sizes they had - specifically they had 12 ounce Rogue IIPA and Old Crustacean, both of which are cellarable, and I've had the IIPA I bought and it was fine, and I have some of the Old Crusty they are selling too, just haven't cracked it open yet). I bought a single of Kingfisher Light Lager, Taj Mahal and Castle Lager. On previous trips I bought the above mentioned Rogue, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot and probably a few others too. Definitely a decent selection by Florida standards. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

I was visiting Fort Lauderdale last week and looked in the BeerFly section before setting off, to see if there were any Beer Stores worth visiting. Based on northyorksammy's review I decided to check this place out. As many of you will know, good beer is hard to come by here in Florida, and so it was with some considerable delight that I discovered this place actually had a reasonable selection. A veritable Aladdin's Cave by Florida standards.

Some visitors may not be quite as impressed as I, but my particular tastes were fairly well catered for. My favourite style is American and British Barleywines and I was able to purchase several of these. I bought a whole case of Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, which is one of my favourites (not sure when I will have the opportunity again, unless I drive back down here) a load of Young's Old Nick (which I did actually manage to find in an ABC in Melbourne earlier in the year) and I bought 6 bottles of Rogue Old Crustacean which I had not tried previously.

Unfortunately, they didn't have any Brooklyn Monster Ale, which is probably my most favourite of all, but I didn't miss the chance to mention it to the store's buyer, who not only came out and chatted to us at length, but also cracked open a bottle of Rogue Imperial Pilsner to share with us. An honour only bestowed on real beer fans. We were fairly impressed with the Imperial Pilsner and ended up buying a bottle of it (in fact I am drinking the last of it now as I type this).

Rogue was very well represented and I also decided to purchase the Chocolate Stout since I had not tried this version before either. It was pretty good, but it seems so long ago that I had the Brooklyn version that I'm not sure how it measures up to that.

Other purchases included a 3 pack of Belzebuth by Brasserie Jeanne D’Arc (not bad and certainly potent even at its apparently reduced 13% abv) and a large, intriguing-looking 750 ml bottle of Cuvee de Noel by St Feuillien, which I have yet to try.

So it's back to the fridge. It's either Bigfoot or Old Crustacean. Probably Old Crustacean, since I only have 23 Bigfoots left.

This is a new store in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and worth checking out if you are in the area. It's just up the street from WIld Oats, and the two together were worth driving in for from Boca. So it may be from Miami as well. There were the standbye 6-paks but there were a few unusual picks such as ST. Feuillen Xmas and Delirium Xmas, as well as De Dolles, that made me proud to make the extra stop. The buyer here knows his beer, and service is right there with you and very friendly. They are just setting up the so0re, and I look forward to next time.
