This Rock Bottom is basically the same as every other one I've been to (there are four, count them FOUR in the Phoenix area alone!). Understated yet elegant decorations, low lighting, plenty of televisions and a big bar space. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I didn't have any entrees, but I did sample two of the appetizers. The onion rings seemed to be from a frozen bag. The onions were undercooked and tough while the breading had difficultly holding onto them. But the stout ketchup more than made up for that. I also tried the chips and guacamole. The chips were cold and the guac was unremarkable.

The beers were also unremarkable. The light lager and hefeweizen were way too sweet. The Pale was decent. A lack of hops and upfront bitterness allowed some of the floral notes to shine through. The red and brown was also unremarkable. The stout did manage to make up some of the ground, though, with a decent dark, rich malt profile.

The service was good. Not great, but good. We always had what we needed.

This was your typical Rock Bottom. Some of the better food was at this location. Server was nice and prompt. Beer selection was average with two seasonals on tap. I had the "PAC NW Amber" as the seasonal. It was decent but not sure why that was a seasonal. It should have been a Warmer ir Bwine. Eventhough it is chain beer I would like t6 see a warmer or barleywine on tap at some point in time. Anywho, it was a nice place, standard. I would go back anytime. Recommend the Mahi Mahi, Chicken Fried Chicken and the burgers are more than an average person can eat.

Stopped in for lunch and a beer during another business trip. Sampled the Abbey Ale and the Pale Ale. Sat at the bar and eat and had two pints plus a sample

Atmosphere - Somewhere between a TGIF/Applebee's/Chili's/etc and a brewpub. More people there for the food and something different than there just for the beer. They keep their glasses gold, so that's a minus, but they have room temp glasses if you ask.

Quality - Pale ale was decent to good, nothing impressive. The Abbey Ale was a completely sweet, cloying mess. Had a two ounce sample and didn't finish it. The Pale was very solid though.

Service - Decent, bartender was spread a little thin covering a nearly full bar and bar tables. But no major complaints and friendly enough.

Selection - Several style choices from a Light to a Stout, but the hoppiest beer they had was the Pale Ale. They had seven or eight beers to choose from.

Food - Had the southwest chicken enchiladas, not bad. Definitely something I would eat again. But nothing exciting.

All-in-all a less than memorable experience. I would say that this Rock Bottom was more a chain than not. But with as many as there are in the Phoenix area, it didn't surprise me.
