Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

Thanks to trill for this one.
A- Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a medium brown with no head.
S- Not a overpowering nose. But notes of nuts and roasted malts.
T- Brown ale then all pecans! You get a some hops but no overpowering but it is a really nice brown ale with a nice nutty aftertaste. Definitely roasted pecans for this flavor.
M- Good caronbonation. A somewhat thin brew but just right for this beer.
D- Oh yeah! I am think I should have gotten more from trill. This is a great session beer. I love brown ale so this fits the bill. Definite must have from the Deep South.

Poured dark but not black with substantial head that faded quickly.
The nose was slightly sweet but also kind of a mystery.
Taste was sweet with slight nuttiness and mild bitterness that leads to a very refreshing and sessionable beer despite its simplicity.

Very refreshing and well balanced. Poured into a Samuel Adams glass resulting in a rapidly dissipating head with good lacing. Received as part of a gift package. If it was available where I live it would be a part of my rotation.

Good for a dinner drink or for lunch, not at a bar. Smooth bitterness and really some hop hints combined with low to medium carbonation makes it that.

From a 12 oz. bottle
Clear brown with red highlights. One finger variegated white head. Full surface cap, spotty lacing.
Roasty malt, light nutty aromas.
Some hop bitterness up front, noticeable pecan flavor but not overwhelming, slightly sweet, light herbal flavor.
Medium bodied, good carbonation, dry finish.
Does well accompanying a substantial meal.

Rich ruby red-brown color with decent head and some lacing. Smell is all around average. Taste is good, rich lightly roasted malt flavor and some hint of nuttiness. A little lighter in flavor than I’d prefer. This exemplifies a lot of what I like in a beer. Rich light roast malt flavor, very light hops, and 1 adjunct being showcased. Like it a lot.

A Microbrewed Beer Club offering. Pours a medium brown color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is brown sugar and pecans. Taste is sweet malts. No bitterness at all. Goes down easy.
