Thanks to betsona for bringing this one over. Poured from 12oz bottle.
A- Pours a hazy brownish orange color. Half finger white head shows poor retention. No real lacing left on the glass as it all falls back into the beer.
S- A little muted although I thought it showed a nice roasted/sweet quality to it. The front of the aroma shows off some light roasted malts that are covered quickly by a caramel malt. This sweetness lasts through the entire aroma accented at times with light nutty aromas. Hints of sweet alcohol toward the end. Overall it was what I expected in this beer.
T- Caramel malts right off the get go in this beer. Hints of a light roast under this but it only comes out for a split second. The pecans or whatever nut they use really shines in the middle for me. The ending is more of the caramel malt base with maybe a hint of nut here and there. Alcohol is sweet on the ending a little medicinal.
M- Light mouthfeel. Carbonation was nice for the style but almost a little lacking at times. Caramel malts and hints of nuts are left on the palate. Aftertaste is light alcohol, hints of nuts and a nice sticky sweet caramel malt base. Flavors were a little underbalanced but overall still good. No off flavors were present in the beer when I drank it. Light alcohol drying on the palate with each sip.
O- I thought this was a nice beer but I expected a little bit more nut flavor to it. If you call it Southern Pecan I expect a little more nut flavor. Other than that I thought this was a good tasting brown ale.

Pours a deep amber brownish color with nice clarity. A bit on the reddish side for a brown ale. No head at all present. The nose starts with some brown bread, oatmeal, and light nutty notes. Not sure that I would pick the nuttiness out as pecan, but there is definitely some influence from the adjuncts. Taste is watery with nutty notes and hints of grain. No hops noted in the flavor but some bitterness at the finish makes for an unpleasant finish. Mouthfeel is light and low carbonation. Overall, this beer is not well executed. It tastes like a really light watery beer with some adjunct flavors added. Would not return to this beer.
