12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter

A - partly cloudy with a chance of hops <ha ha> medium gold with a one finger white head, good retention, and good lacing.

S - mostly grass and bread notes along with some floral and citrus notes

T - typical IPA flavor. caramel malts well balanced with a citrusy hop finish.

M - medium thick, good carbonation, slight aftertaste

O - this is a good IPA. It's not a great one. Sure I'd drink it again, but the problem is I can name ten or more IPAs that are just as good if not better. That makes this a one and done for me.

12oz bottle dated 4/29/14 poured into a pint glass
A: Yellow/light brown with a 1+ finger head that slowly settles
S: Orange/grapefruit rind, wheat and caramel
T: Wheat up front, then caramel then citrus and a hint of pine. A touch candied but flavorful
M: Medium-bodied, a bit sweet but fresh
O: If the yeast converted just a bit more sugar this would go from good to great. It's quite tasty just a bit on the sweet side

Alright, here we have something interesting. It may be yet another aipa, but it is fairly low alcohol but not one of these over hopped, under malted affairs, so it's unique.

It is cloudy with nice lace. The aroma is a little funky.

The taste has a malty undertone you don't often see in this genre, and it makes this much more balanced than most weaker aipa s. The aftertaste also is more robust than usual.

I am pleased with this offering and look forward to trying others from Lazy Magnolia.
