32oz growler from Dogwood Growlers (Acworth, GA). 7.49. Served in a Southern Tier tulip snifter.

Pours ruddy garnet with two fingers of pale head. Spotty lace.

Aromas of floral, pine, rye and some citrus.

More bitter earthy pine in the flavor than the nose with grapefruit rind, rye spice, pepper, biscuit and just a hint of the respectable abv. Pretty good.

Medium full, oily feel with moderate carbonation. Lingering piney, citrus rind finish.

Not bad at all and I'd drink it again but it lacked any wow factor for me. It's quite good without bringing anything new to the table.

Really enjoyed this beer. Normally I'm put off by Rye and high alcohol content, but this did a quality job of combining the two. The Rye comes through really well and the Zythos hops give a nice cut to the bite of the alcohol. Slight toffee notes and a creamy full mouth feel. This is a great beer to recommend to people looking to try a Rye that won't put them off.
