A-dark brown color that appears to be clear, when the light gets though, with a brown head that faded quick, and leaves a slight lace
S-roasted, sweet caramel malt and nutty aroma
T- roasted caramel malt taste that is sweet at first then you get a roasted caramel malt and hop bitterness in the aftertaste that last til the end
M-full body and low carbonation
O-I could see myself drinking this on a hot summer day.

Pours mahogany with 2 fingers of caramel colored head. Traces of lacing & even less head retention

S: Carob & cocoa, some dark chocolate as this warms

T: Follows the nose, iron & Baker's Chocolate & dryness up front. Carob, a bit of raisin, iron & molasses as this warms, faint lactose flavor as well & a little bit of dark chocolate. Finishes dry with lactose & iron & a touch of cocoa sweetnesss

MF: Medium bodied with modest carbonation, thins out a bit once warm, dry-ish

Didn't really taste any sweet potato, but a decent milk stout none the less. Easy to drink

Pours to a thin, tan head that dies. Opaque mahogany color. Aroma is cafe mocha and half-and-half with some roasted nuts and vanilla. Flavor is coffee, nuts, roasted malt and milk sugar. Mouthfeel is medium and co2 is pleasantly low. Overall a solid quaff.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of chocolate, roasted malts, some sweet potato. Taste is much milder than the smell. Some smoke, light sweetness, a bitter at the finish. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

12 ounce bottle, bottled on date of 02/10/14. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing. Aroma is sweet, it smells like roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, and some vanilla. It tastes like milk chocolate, nuts, vanilla, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and cream. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's creamy with moderate carbonation. I think it's a good sweet stout, but I don't think "sweet potatoes" when drinking it, because I didn't notice any. Certainly worth a try.

This beer seemed a bit light for a stout. Initially, the stout started tasting OK - some nice chocolate & nutty, roasted notes. But as I drank some more of the stout, it started to take on a bitter / metallic taste. This could be that I was slowly sipping it and it got too warm. Anyways, I don't think I'll be trying it again.

Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. Label says 08 23 13.

A- Pours a 99% opaque black color with a 1/2 inch light brown head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and spotty surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.

S- Milk chocolaty dark roast with notes of vanilla and some nuttiness.

T- Moderate dark roast with some chocolate and char on the back end. A bit sweet as well that balances out the bitter roastiness.

M- Moist and a bit sharp from the roast. Medium carbonation and a mostly full body.

O- Not bad but I'd recommend the Jefferson Stout over this.
