A: pours a dark yellow to very light orange with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. there is some lacing on the glass.
S: There is a grainy sweetness with a touch of toasted malt. Biscuity throughout. a background citrusy hop note. Im gettin a little DMS here but nothing unpleasant
T: Malty sweetness, very well balanced with a citrusy hop noted. medium bitterness that balances the malt well. Finishes dry and malty
M: medium body and very smooth
D: Pretty good beer. I liked it better as I made my way through the pint. initially wasn't crazy, by the end I wanted another.

fresh 12 oz bottle.
Pours clear, golden with a moderate size head that has weak retention,
Fairly nice aroma of sweet and light roasted malts. Flavor is true to German style heles with no noteworthy faults or strengths.
Medium-light body; lightly crisp carbonation; slightly dry finish.

12oz. brown bottle from the sampler pack, purchased at Kroger's in Finneytown, poured into a pint.
A: Pours a light amber or toasted straw color, good visibility. 1 finger of white head forms and holds for a bit. Some lacing here and there.
S: Light floral and grassy hops with a prick of spice. Grainy and lightly toasted malts.
T/M: More of the grainy and lightly toasted malts with a touch of added sweetness. The hops are a bit softer but still have that earthy and grassy taste. From the middle and through the end, it tightens up into a crisp, dry finish with a touch of lasting bitterness. Body is medium-light with decent carbonation.
D: Tasty enough and very sessionable. Wouldn't mind knocking a few more of these back after a long day in the sun. Their website lists this as 5.2% ABV

Darker than any Helles I've seen to date, it's almost amber and only as clear as the color allows (which is still pretty clear). A fizzy, big-bubbled head makes a fair effort and sets an oily foam atop the brew. It holds as is for the duration, laying down spotting as it goes.
Dry and sweet clash rather than complementing or working off each other. Malts are crackery while a slick sort of sweetness counters and dry hay runs underneath. It's okay.
It's mostly the same but with a distinct note of diacetyl running through. It's a little too grainy as well. Otherwise, that sweetness continues here, and there is an herbal hops note. Oils, grains, and slickness keep it from being remotely clean.
The same goes for what should be a crisp, light-bodied beer; it weighs heavy with an off slickness on the tongue. It is somewhat crisp, but not enough to redeem this beer.

I enjoy this brewery and this is a great golden beer. I like this beer on a nice warm day sitting next to the pool.
A- Beautiful color when poured into a glass. Its a golden color with a nice little head on top.
S- Its not a crazy strong smell, but does have a great hint of hops to it.
T- Its my "miller lite" or "Bud light". I can drink this stuff all day and not get sick of it.
M- It has a smooth feel and goes down nice.
D- Easy to drink and great to have a cooler full of it.

"9284A..." on bottom of glass, "29609N" inkjet on the neck. Guessing this means 284/296th day of 2009, making it 4ish months old. $0.99 at Binny's Plainfield.
Poured into a stange glass, for lack of a pilsner glass.
Crystal clear gold, occasional streams of carbonation. A finger of head with a light sheen to it, recedes to a solid cover that remains for a good while. Aroma is very minerally, wet hay, grain.
Saltine cracker, crisp, pretty dry in the end leaving a faint breadiness. A very mild bitter elelment, no hop flavor left that I can pick up. Aftertaste of honey minutes later. Crisp carbonation, then dry. This is fairly average, though fresh on draft it may be better.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.
It pours a clear straw color with a good amount of carbonation. 1 finger white head goes away quickly. Typical lager smell, maybe a little more robust then some. This beer has a lot of crispness to it. For what it is, this lager has a wonderful feel and finish. With its small ABV this beer could be drank all night long. Moerlein as a whole makes too many lagers, but most are quite good. It would be a good start for someone who only drinks Budweiser.
