My wife and I used to visit this location at least twice a month. The menu selection was nothing to get excited about, but I enjoyed one of their sandwiches and was a member of their beer club, working towards getting the barbecue grill set. I amassed enough points and finally got the set, only to find the spatula was defective. No big deal, right? The manager explained just how trivial my problem was and told me to email corporate, which I did. I was then blown off by someone representing himself as the VP of customer service. At this point, I realized that the company decided a $10 BBQ set was worth more than a regular customer. Having gained a clear understanding that their "loyalty program" was one-way, we gave up on this place. They lost our 25+ visits a year and gained our lasting disdain, all over a cheap BBQ set.

Another average corporate brewery chain, nothing special, beer is okay and the food is average. You would be better served going local, wherever that may be. Although, at the time I began to frequent this establishment, there was not much in my neck of the woods in regards to local breweries, so it served me well for some time, but now it is on the list of no goes.

It was just an ok very average experience for me, nothing outstanding or terrible really. Has more of a sports bar feel to it, very load, which isn't for me. The beer was good, food was ok , service was not real good ....forgot about us a couple of times. This was another place that forgot to bring my souviner glass that I ordered

Great place amid the busy-ness of Bell Rd. They remodeled about a year ago, which added a nice openness to the interior. We go there often, and we always sit at the bar, so we won't offer an opinion on the dining room. There are flatscreens in the bar area, usually showing the sporting events du jour.

Food - the menu isn't huge, but the food on it is quite good. The 2am burger is worth the trip all by itself, the chicken wings are good, and the steaks are pretty good also. They have a smaller menu than other similar places in the area, but what they do is good quality.

Beer - Really good. Each Rock Bottom's brewer has some flexibility to do his or her own thing, so each Rock location will have different beer and menu items. There is nearly always some kind of seasonal or cask beer available, along with the usual suspects (Wit, IPA, Kolsch, Red, Brown) which are quite good also. Compared to other chain-micro-brew type places we've been in the Phoenix area, Rock has the best beer in our opinion. They have growlers to go also.

Service - No problems with the service. Predictably, they can get a bit slow during busy times, but they are always friendly and responsive.

All in all, highly recommended!

Visited on numerous occasions always had outstanding servers especially from the veteran staff Shannon, Brian and server Mike (referred to as Danny Bonaduce look a like by previous poster) On the ball friendly and never left me hanging or wanting for anything outstanding server!.

Brewmaster Jeff extremely friendly and answers all questions and asks opinion on what you are drinking handles feedback well! Love his IPA.

Food is overall consistent, onion rings crisp crunchy and moist, some of the best I have ever had.

New decor and seating updates are still in progress have a new booth with own tap for customers to use at table is in the works!

Best westside place for a brewed beer.

Atmosphere- Went here 2 days in a row for lunch. Was seated instantly. Clean, well-maintained sports bar atmosphere. Much brighter than many sports bars tho. It lacked the dank. Great place to bring your family or friends. It was quite relaxing.

Quality- The beers were of mixed quality, ranging from average to outstanding. I will review them separately. The food was pretty good, but not exceptional. The portions were enormous. I tried the wings, the salads, and the jambalaya.

Service- It was absolutely outstanding both days, with 3 different waiters/waitresses. They refilled waters and soft-drinks often, and without being asked. They were poking around as soon as you got to your bottom 3rd of your beer to see if you were ready for your next. The wait-people were very knowledgeable about the beers they were serving.

F- Food selection was varied and good. I went with the wings, jambalaya and salads. All were well above average, but not exceptional. The portions were enormous.

Value- A bit pricey, but not outrageous.

They recently upgraded! Pulled out nearly 50% of the dining room seating and put in high-tops for a more barsy environment. The only thing I hate about this place is that horrible waiter that looks identical to Danny Bonaduce! Stay away from him and NEVER, I say again NEVER mention his uncanny resemblance to the famous actor. Your service will definitely suck that night.

Food - my wife and I highly, in fact very highly recommend the fish and chips. They use a cod piece with an excellent tempura breading.

Beer - they had a maibock recently that was pretty tasty.

Hope this helps. The previous reviews were quite old and needed a little refresher.

Cheers!

More or less this is an average Rock Bottom, the bartender was very much on the ball and more experienced than most locations. A decent sized bar. Decent light coming inside, this is a medium sized restaurant compared to the big chains. The beer was better than average, although the selection was a bit less. Craft beer drinkers have way too much competition to hang out there, but was worth a stop as I was in the area.Patio is a plus, and there are people who think 64 degress Farenheit is patio weather.

One of the more plain looking RB's in the Phoenix area. If it's a busy weekend for restaurants I can usually get a seat with reasonable to no wait time since it seems many people are not aware of this location.

Food is consistently good, as it is with most RB's. Menu selection improved drastically this past year with new pub fare style menu additions.

Servers are hit or miss. The "veteran" servers who have been there for awhile are great. The new people are almost always horrible.

Beer selection is poorer than the other RB's. They seem to never have enough of their seasonals or hand-pump ales. They also do not have as many seasonals or special release beers as the Desert Ridge location.

Went here last friday(3-3-06) as soon as I got into Glendale/Phoenix. Its was just me so seating was instant, even had my choice of where to sit. I opted to go for the nonsmoking patio which was directly next to the front enterance. Weather was very nice.

A- relaxing was the best way to put into. I sat around a couple others tables with some people just getting off work, tossing back some beer, and laughing it up ready to enjoy the weekend. Felt very at ease.

S- wonderful. every waiter/waitress was in a good mood. Which is always good considering that it was friday night, the place was busy, and many more people where entering as opposed to leaving. My waiter was funny and never left me hanging. I was seated for maybe a minute before he came out. He came back regularly to check up on my and my beer.

S- Not sure how many beers there were besides the house stuff, but i do recall there being eight or nine house brews. 7 of which came with the sampler (six regs and 1 seasonal). Beer was somewhere between disappointing to decent. Nothing really stood out. I went with a pint of Raptor Red (american amber/red ale) after the sampler. I was hoping it was just the little amount in the sampler glass that made it feel so flat, i was wrong. Next time i'd go with the Road Runner Brown, or maybe the pale ale or IPA. Food selection was varied and good. I went with the ballpark pretzels.

F- Food selection was varied and good. I went with the ballpark pretzels. Ballpark pretzels were huge. Im a big guy at 6'6" and 240, and i almost didnt wanna finish both of them (but i did) Unfortunately the pretzels were the most exciting thing about the resturaunt.

I was rather disappointed at the brews, that werent bad, just not anything to warrant me returning solely for the beer. The rest of the experience gives me a soft spot for this place. I'll return next time, if I have time.

I stopped in here for a bite of lunch with my brother-in-law, niece, and son. Set in amongst a sprawling mall complex, the interior is relaxing, with plenty of seating and a fairly large bar area. Televisions adorn the corners of each wall and are easily seen from pretty much anywhere you can sit.
My bro-in-law ordered up a liter of their house doppelbock and I had their brown ale which was cask-conditioned (a nice touch having cask beer available). Both were quite tasty and the brown ale paired up nicely with the hickory-smoked bacon and cheddar hamburger I ordered. Also on-tap were the usual assortment of ales and lagers ranging from a light lager through pale ale, IPA, hefeweizen, brown, stout and d-bock.
Unfortunately, the service was pretty piss-poor. The waitress must have figured she could memorize our food order and didn't write it down. Consequently, my burger was medium-well and my brother-in-law's was medium rare (cross-up #1) and he got my fries while I got his side order of fruit (cross-up #2). We would have said something had the girl ever come back to ask us about how we liked our food but I guess she was overwhelmed with screwing up the order at the other table she was waiting on. Well, at least she didn't eff up the beers we ordered.
The food was good even though I don't like my burgers done to the point where there's no pink left in the meat. Most importantly, the beer was tasty. I'd go back but make sure I was sitting where that waitress wasn't working.

Rock Bottom is hit and miss in terms of experience. The atmosphere is generally enjoyable, the less people there the better although that is rarely the case I am there (happy hour and weekends). The overall quality is good as it beats the heck out of your average chain restaurant such as Chili's or TGIF in food and brew. The service is spotty depending on how busy they are. The beer selction that I am familar with is limited to the 6 or 7 proprietary brews. The food menu is excellent in both selection and quality. A fun place to hang out at! I wish they would carry the Party Pig though!

IHave been to this restaurant/brewery several times and have received "Great Service, and Poor Service". So with this joint you place your bet you take your chance.

The "In House" beers, quite drinkable, the bottle selection is also good, but the staff totally lacking in knowledge of the beer on hand. Also they bring you a glass normally covered in ice and frost, so make sure to tell them you want a room temperature glass.

Food has always been quite good and the prices reasonable, and all in all a "Fair to middling" beer lovers spot, but as a nice place to eat and spend time with friends and family, it's quite good.
