Enjoyed this limited run beer after climbing up near Leadville. Liked Amicas so much the previous day that we drove all the way back down there before driving all the way back to Denver.
Pours a very dark brown, porter-like color with light brown/ruby hues around the edges. No head whatsoever, but some nice lacing.
Not much smell due to the lack of head. Butterscotch and caramel with a small amount of cinnamon-like spice. Smelled very pleasant, just wish it smelled stronger.
Hits the palate with honey, which gives way to caramel and butterscotch, finishing with some spice and warming alcohol. Truly delicious and high quality. Wish this weren't a limited run.
Medium bodied. Slightly syrupy sans resins. Alcohol is only slightly prevalent, but is certainly welcome in a beer of this style.
An incredible beer I wish I could find at the local bar or bottle shop. Hurry down to Amicas while you can - there's so little of this they're not even filling growlers.
Serving type: on-tap
