poured out into a Spaten pilsener glass:
Standard pil gold with a billowy head even after I poured it slowly down the side. Bottle was slightly below room temp, having been in the pantry. Head disappated quickly; golden hue of the beer is not murky at all. When I started popping the top off the bottle, I could smell the pils mustiness, and the smell persists, as it should. Trumer hits all the right notes for a pils, musty and funky with citrus overtones.
As far as taste, I'm a bit surprised by this bottle, the last of a sixer I've been working my way through. As with the nose, it hits all the notes and in the past made me think that they were trying to make it taste like an Urquell. But this one is different, in a good way. More subtle on the mustiness, with a nice, sharp tang on the back end. I think I'd chilled my last 5 in the fridge too long before drinking.
The mouthfeel is thin, an easy slide, good for a lager. Combined with the tang, this is an easy-drinker. Just don't put it in the fridge for more than 15 minutes.
