Filled up my growler last Thursday for my birthday (its tradition) and its been waiting patiently in my beer fridge since then. This year's iteration of Nimbus IPA is 77 IBUs and (IIRC) about 7.5% ABV. Pours a pleasing clear orange/dark golden color with nice carbonation and good head (I was a little aggressive on the pour) that leaves lacing as it dissipates. Smell is bright and hoppy, includes citrus, tropical fruit, bitter, pine.

Taste is bitter, citrus, pine, pear, malty sweetness is there too, A good balance with the hops being prominent and and malt still there in a supporting role.

Mouthfeel loses some points for slight astringency and being a little overly dry on the finish. Drinkability is good, I may just finish that growler tonight! (759 characters)

This beer by Nimbus is 69 IBUs. It is hopped 6 times using Magnum, Horizon, Liberty, and Centennial.

This IPA is a clear dark copper color with an off-white head that persistently keeps a thin layer floating atop the beer until the last sip. An intense fake fruity aroma wafts from my glass, a mixture of tropical fruit and perhaps some notes of Simple Green cleaner (more interesting than offensive though). The taste is hoppy, but with out a whole lot of bitterness. The fruitiness lingers in the taste with some barely perceptible diacetyl in the background that adds to the competing flavors. This is an IPA with a solid malty backbone (as is expected from Nimbus), with sweet caramelized malt notes that are accompanied by hints of lightly toasted biscuits. There is a solid bitterness in the finish, it is just muted a bit by the medium bodied fullness of this beer. The hop flavor is a combination of slightly citrusy, with a bit of tropical fruit, and a hint of pine. This beer is definitely on the sweet side, but it is a good foil for the hops. (1,057 characters)
