As the beer exits the bottle, the dark yellow color is not attractive, and, as I would learn, a harbinger of things to come. The aroma is mostly malty, with some notes which are off. A floral perfumes attempts to cover this up.

Sweetness on the palate with more off malty flavors. I am not sure if it is adjunct or just malt gone wrong. Either way, I'm not too excited about the 6 pack in the refrigerator. (407 characters)

My local bevmo started carrying 4 or 5 offerings from nimbus. Unfortunately the fact they don't allow you to purchase singles has me backlogged on Nimbus brews. Poured this low alcohol blonde beer into a pils glass. Has a bit more color than most in this style, kind of a light copper body with a very slight haze.

First thoughts were that this is doughy and sweet but not overdone. Smells and tastes very fresh wich was a plus. I'm always a bit leary of such a low abv beer and Bevmo handling mixed together but not the case here. Carbonation works to cut the sweetness a bit and there is very little hop presence. Lemon comes into play throughout but mostly in the finish.

Notes: Ehhh...A boring example of a style. Granted this is not supposed to be Big or Bold but this is a pretty lifeless example. Watered and weak but if someone wants a decent BBQ daytime brew this would do the trick albeit there are much better choices. (936 characters)

12oz bottle received from Solomon420 as an extra. Thanks! Into my Sam Smith pint

A: Brilliantly clear light yellow with a massive(4") white head that recedes to a ring leaving some lace. Decent

S: Light wheat aroma with lemon and a mild perfume. Decent

T: Really light (watery) with a mild citrus and perfume with a light, dry finish with a hint of floral character

M: Very watery with a ton of carbonation

D: Meh. (419 characters)

Hazy blonde color (sorry couldn't resist). Thin head doesn't retain well.

Nose is light fruits such as honeydew melon.

Palate is sweet n sour with some tartness on the finish. Very light beer, but I'm suspicious of the sweet n sour element.

I'm growing very tired of sampling Nimbus beers due to their mediocrity. They have a few notable ones but the rest aren't worth finishing the glass. (392 characters)

Bottle from Park Lane Liquor in Lancaster, CA. The beer is a mostly clear orange-gold color with a medium thin and fluffy bone white head that dissipates steadily. Spotty lacing on the glass. Light floral hops and earthy malt in the nose. Light-bodied with a clean mouthfeel. Light hops, yeast and malt flavors. The finish is mildly spiced with a short and hoppy aftertaste. Overall the beer is a little below average, it simply doesn't pack much punch. (453 characters)

12oz. bottle.

Slightly hazy, golden color. Medium sized white head.

Sweet aroma. Honey & caramel. Herbal & flowery.

Taste followed aroma, and was more sweet than bitter. Seemed to be caramel, albeit pretty mild. A bit of lemon flavor. Pretty simplistic.

Light in body. Medium carbonation. Very refreshing.

OK, quite thirst quenching. Nothing special, though. (373 characters)

This beer was an extra in a recent trade, but for the life of me I can't remember who tossed it in. In any case, this is a pretty average beer, but at least I drank it during a heat wave, so it really hit the spot. Pours a hazy golden with almost no head. Smells of light dusty grain with a hint of grainy sourness. The taste is similar- cold and wet, with some slight grainy sourness and clean grain finish. Some more body than some of these types of beer have, and pretty drinkable, if somewhat uninteresting. (511 characters)

Served on-tap, the head was only about one finger with decent retention, color is a light gold with superb clarity and good active carbonation. Smell is very faint. Only slight bready malt aroma present. Taste is mild, light malt with a bit of citrus/lemon flavor and a slight nuttiness in the finish. Low, low bitterness. Very crisp, light body, carbonation is nice. This beer is very lager-like and sadly, macro-tasting. Not much flavor overall, but it is refreshing and I could see drinking it again on a hot day maybe... (524 characters)

Beer has a nice, rich golden color to it. Smells very light and drinkable. Taste was rather bland, not much happening for me on this one, but not horrible. Hardly any aftertaste, this could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the person. Very drinkable, goes down smooth. If there was more to taste I would have given this a higher rating, but overall a decent beer. (374 characters)

So I actually get to be the first to rate this beer...NOICE!

Overall this is a nice easy beer for thos warmer summer days/nights. It pours a nice golden clear color with a nice fluffy head of foam. The smell is light and not overpowering at all. Some hops but very faint. The first swig reveals a pleasing and light beer to drink. Not dreadfully full of any one specific flavor, but still tasty none the less. I really liked this beer as its a great all around beer that will get the novice beer drinkers into some great hand crafted beers. My wife likes this one and she normally doesnt drink the beers I do, so its a great way to have something in common about beer :) (673 characters)

gotta love nimbus' bottle designs, bery creative and enjoyable

A- clear, golden straw in color, big fluffy white head with good retent, settles to ring, some lacing

S- floral, sweet, fruit scents, pear

T- malt sweetness, pear flavor, floral hops, bit buttery

M- smooth, its watery, but not paper thin, got some body to it.

D- very easy to drink, this is one of those brews made to appeal to macro drinkers and craft drinkers alike. Not my favorite, but its not horrible. Well brewed, i think brews like this are necessary to ween people off marcos. (564 characters)

At 3.5% this is one of the lightest craft beers around in my area so I picked it up to see how it would work as a lawnmower brew during the dog days of summer.

Poured a clear honey yellow with a half finger of craggy white on top that melts to very sticky lacing leaving a substantial mapping on the side of the glass.

Aroma is honey sweet malts with a little light fruitiness. Lots of honey sweetness, however.

Taste is again sweet honey that seems to finish to light lemon. this ends up tasting like a light summer tea without the tea. Light lemon hops at the end leave the mouth clean and dry almost as if you were driking iced tea.

Thin mouthfeel but as to be expected for the style.

Not spectacular, but not meant to be. Very clean and refreshing and would definitely work as something you could drink lots of during the dog days of summer. (860 characters)

Thanks to hopdog for a hitchhiker. Light blond colour with some honey mixed cloudiness and a good sized head. Malty sweet aroma. Easy drinking pale ale with unpasteurized honey and more on the sweet than the bitter, honey also buttresses the nmouthfeel. (253 characters)

A deep gold color, it is quite clear and has a white head on top. It smells faintly of something that reminds me of some sort of soda, though I can't quite put my finger on it. There is a faint honey aroma perhaps. Tastes light with a bit of woodiness and it finishes with a bit of smokiness. A fairly dry beer that has a spicy note in the finish. As this beer warms up a nice amount of honey expresses itself. The mesquite honey is not strong but it adds complexity to an otherwise non descript style of beer. (510 characters)

So far, the outside of the bottles have definitely proven to add more character to the brews inside the bottles, and they portray each of the flavors pretty spot on. When I first poured the Dirty Güera into the glass, the head was thin, the visible carbonation dissipated quickly, and the lacing was clean, leaving no residue as it subsided. The color can be described as a foggy orange "blonde." See what I did there? Unfortunately, from this point onward, there's really not a whole lot to say.

The smell was quite hard to get a hold of, being light and airy without much hops. I did manage to pull out some caramel, spiciness, lime and a malty sweet scent, but there's really not much there. I wish I had more to say, but even the flavor followed suit with a very light finish. Tasting went fairly quickly, and I found myself polishing off the first bottle within a few minutes just to try and get some characters out of it. I ended up with some extremely light caramel, honey, sweet malt, yeasty barley, and barely any hops. Along with the severe lack of hop flavor, there was zero aftertaste despite the wetness and good carbonation throughout the drink. I just could not keep a grasp on this beer, it rolled on and off my tongue without a second glance.

In the very small amount of detail I've given though, I found myself rather enjoying this beer for its simplicity, only wishing it was a tad bit stronger in the delivery. But how much can you really expect from a beer with "delicate flavor characteristics"? But this is beside the point that the beer is very light and has 4% alcohol/volume in a 12oz. bottle, so it's easy to drink on a hot day. They're like a dime a dozen, if you catch my drift, haha. Overall, definitely a summer beer perfect for those barbecues when you know you're gonna be swimming off all the ribs you just finished and don't want to drown. Light and easy. (1,893 characters)

I've been craving mostly porters and stouts lately but was not in the mood to go big on a Sunday night, so I popped the top on this bottle from Total Wine paired with a microwaved Super Pretzel -- they go very well together, take that as feigned praise if you want.

A: I got a huge creamy white head. Much larger than I was expecting and probably a little big for the style but I liked it.

S: Corn syrup with a hint of fresh-cut flowers.

T: A little fresh-baked baguette, a little honey. Not super rich flavors but I like what I can get from it.

M: Lots of body up until the end when things flatten out and it becomes clear where the bubbles for that giant head came from.

D: Starts to taste a little sweet and same-y by the end, but the first half of the bottle was definitely solid. (789 characters)

A- Poured to a small glass with a toasted golden body from the 12oz bottle. The white head forms with a thick and frothy consistency to about one finger. Good head retention.

S- Quite mild and lacking enough strength to really pick up much. Pale cracked grains, slight bread, light fruits and apple esters.

T- Mild once again with a balance of honey, yeast bread, light apple fruity esters, cracked pale grains and some herbal floral hops. There is something else to it that reminds me a bit of maple syrup.

MF- Light bodied with a very high carbonation that provides a crisp burn to the palate. Texture is quite creamy and foamy at the same time. Tiny bitterness.

Light and mild but delivers a nice touch of honey and at 3.5% has plenty of flavor to satisfy. (763 characters)

"Arizona Beerfest"!
It was nice to see the "Great Beer Lovers" from Nimbus at the beerfest, and they had several of their beers to sample.
The beer is a winsome golden blond on the pour, the head is modest and bright white, frothy in texture and as it erodes, leaves behind a nice bit of lace. Nose is all malt, clean and fresh, crisp and just the kind of beer we like to drink when the temperature hits 115 degrees. Finish has a delicate hop presence, mildly acidic and a pleasingly dry aftertaste. (501 characters)

A: Pours a very pale yellow hue with a small head. No real retention or lace.

S: I really like the aroma. Smells like a big basket of peaches to me with a hint of corn like sweetness.

T: Wow peachy in the flavor as well. The flavor is not bold. It goes from sort of watery to flavorful in waves. On the flavor side lots of peach skin. Hints of Mango, and dried apricot. There is a midly funky note hiding beneath as well. Interesting.

M: Very very very light, with low carbonation.

D: Good.

This beer has tons of potential. Give it a touch of body and some zippy carbonation for starters. Bring out the wonderful summer fruit flavors to cut through some of the water like components.

When you taste this one it's really good. Come on Nimbus perfect this one and it could be a solid summer brew. Until then I would still drink it on hot days if I could get it. (865 characters)

I was surprised I liked this as much as I did. I'm not into light beers but if you are going to drink one, I'd try this one. Included in a world market gift pack. 12 oz bottle to glass. Golden yellow with adequate head. Nice aroma, a bit like BMC. Nice light malt taste, a little sweet, and maybe some bitter at the end. Nice easy drinker. (339 characters)

Look - Fair, light Golden quality to the color. About an inch of foam, that dissipated quickly. Good carbonation.

Smell - As malty-smelling as would be expected. Slight fruitiness/sweetness...maybe something along the lines of a pear or apple..thus a slight cider-like smell.

Taste - Malty tasting, but well-balanced. I almost sense a "smoked" essence to it. Hard to pin down. But it's present in the aftertaste. Fruity taste is still there, but less prominent.

Mouthfeel - Also well-balanced; not too watery or creamy in texture.

Drinkability - Good beer in general. Well-balanced with not too strong of an aftertaste, and not too filling. Worth coming back for and/or recommending. (688 characters)

Nearly clear pale straw with a tiny glint oranger. The head is tight, white, and lasts for a good while.
Grainy nose, with echo of spicy German (?) hops, and a small nod sweeter towards honey and caramel.
Grain, again, features most prominently in the taste. Biscuit, toasted bread, and tortilla chips. A vague smokiness is tossed in late. Honey adds a vague sweetness. Peppery lemongrass Noble hops conclude things in more of a slaking fashion than a bitter one.
Light bodied, obviously, with a steady, feisty CO2. It's built for washing down grub and quenching thirsts. It's hard not to slam it, and thus it succeeds mightily. It won't knock your socks off literally or figuratively, but it's a solid, basic rendition of a Blonde Ale. (737 characters)

Enjoyed this beer on tap at Nimbus Brewery.

A: Pours a clear golden hue with a white head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice lace.

S: Citrus floral aroma.

T: Mild citrus and lemon flavor that comes off really crisp and clean.

M: Medium carbonation and medium body.

O: Pretty good blonde ale – worthy of a try. (319 characters)

A - Deep, copper gold color with a 1/2" white head. Falls to a cap and retains there. Light lace.

S - Fruity malt. Candy sweet aroma. Very lightly hopped. Honey.

T - Honey like maltiness. Light fruit. Bready almost biscuit like malt in finish. Light, light (Saaz?) hops.

M - Thin, light body. Low carbonation.

D - Simple but tasty. Would be an incredible all-day and night session at 3.5%. (402 characters)

Love it. Very light in small, taste and mouthfeel. It has a cloudy orange appearance with little foam after pouring. The smess is hard to pin down. Taste is good. It has some body and full mouthfeel, but there's not a lot of dimension to that flavor and no aftertaste or lingering flavors after drinking. A robust, yet quick drinking beer that just begs you to keep trying it. You get through it very quick for such a robust beer. (430 characters)
