I have had this beer twice.

A - Pours a dark, nearly black beer. Carbonation was nearly no existent, along with no head.

S - Really hard to find, with out really giving the glass a swirl. Smells like roasted coffee and prunes, very pleasant, only if it were more prominent.

T - First notes that hit were the roasted coffee bitterness and slightly fruity. As the beer warmed up, it seemed to get sweeter, more toffie like, with the prune flavor coming out more. very tasty.

M - For an oatmeal stout I thought it was a little then, coupled with the really low carbonantion, there was nothing special about this.

D - Not one I will be craving, but definitely a beer I could have one or two of.

Huge head on the pour, medium tan/brown in color. Body is black, no light around the edges. Unfortunetly the head reduced down to a skim layer, but grabbed the glasses occassionally.

The good thing about having little head is that as soon as it disappeared the aromas started to come out. Dark toasted malts prevail in the aroma with mild coffee and a touch of char. Dark chocolate plays a nice role as well. A little sweetness finishes it out.

Lots to dark roasted malts again, probably from a load of black patent. Dark chocolate and mild coffee intermingle again. Char comes through after the swallow. Some grassy hopping is there too. It has that biting edge that I attribute to the oatmeal.

Mouthfeel is fairly full and slick. Has a bit too much carbonation that I think washes the flavors out with its overly prickly feel on the tongue. I think this is a major fault with this beer, with less carbonation I think a lot more of the subtleties would come out.

Good drinkability if you are in the mood for a dark toasted stout. It has some dry irish stout qualities to it. Lots of flavor for its managable ABV level, but it is definately filling me up already so I'd be limited on how many of these I could really have.

Milky stout. Pours darker brown with a mediocre tan head. Sweet aroma of malts and cocoa, with milk! Taste is like Cocoa Puffs with oats and some coffee. Very thin mouthfeel. I mean, REALLY thin mouthfeel. This is a stout, right? Smooth, but nothing special.

It has a monkey on the label of course I had to try it.

A- Pours very thick and syrupy with a tan head that quickly disappeared. The beer itself is a creamy solid black color. Lacing disappeared to little spots on the glass.

S- Roasted malt and oats with a coffee smell and a sweet molasses and chocolate nose.

T/M – Smokey coffee, and a sweet chocolate taste to it. Mouth feel is very nice light carbonation no strong bitter aftertaste very clean.

D- I have never been a huge stout drinker, but sine it is winter I am drinking more and more and starting to enjoy them more and more. This is a stout that making me start to enjoy them. I would defentaly have to buy this one again and again.

12 oz bottle. Label notching appears to indicate a bottled on date of Feb. 2014.

Pours clear dark brown with a small head that soon reduces to a thin, partial coat.

Aroma: sweet and overly floral with faint traces of dark malts.

Flavor: Contaminated? Not so bad or off style that I am sure it is a bad bottle, but it certainly is a bad stout.

Feel: mildly astringent; medium body.

O: not sure if its bad bottles or poor beer, but I've recently had 3 of these from Nimbus, crossing 2 styles. I won't be finishing this one.

Thanks Tayner for this brew.

12oz. stubby brown bottle poured in a pint. July(no year) is etched in the side... don't know if its born on or drink by.

A: Poured the deepest black with apparently very little carbonation. When it finally kicks in, it produces about 1 finger of tan, fizzy head that dies to about an 1/8 inch. Decent lacing.

S: Smells of that familiar English stout. Plenty of oats to go around. Grapes or plums also present, adding a nice sugar sweetness. Some sweetness might come from a touch of molasses and theres a definite coffee undertone.

T/M: Yack... maybe this was a drink by date. Body is much thinner than expected, even for an English stout. Tastes very strongly of sour? coffee. Don't get much of grainy malts but rather a fake sugar sweetness.

D: Not sure if this bottle of past it's prime.. but I really don't think so. Idk, maybe I was expecting a Samuel Smith's. Don't think I'll try this one again.

A wonderfully flavorful oatmeal stout. Thanks to tayner for this extra in my box.

Pours black as coal nearly impenetrable to light. the slightest ruby tones around the bottom of the chalice. nice tan head with awesome lace. smells of dark malt, charcoal, and coffee bean. The first taste is of burnt oak and malt, followed by coffee bean and a little bitter bite at the end. slight bitter chocolate tones. Mouthfeel is good but a touch thin. Drinkability is good and easy. A great brew, the first of nimbus ive tried. So far im a fan.

Stubby brown 12oz twist off bottle with neat brown paper label featuring Nimbus’ monkey in a Buddha pose. Freshness date indicates month but not year.

Very dark, almost black, but with a nice glossy appearance. The head starts out about ½ inch, quickly shrinks but does not disappear; head is brown and made of tine bubbles. A very attractive beer.

The nose is predominantly of dark chocolate. The bidder sweet flavors of this stout are balanced very well. Coffee and chocolate along with toasty oat flavors are all present. Rather big and very round, the stout feels good in the mouth. A long dry finish gives it a refreshing character found in good dry stouts.

A serviceable stout with some roasted coffee grinds, drinkable. Dark brown with no head, some coffee grind aroma. Medium mouthfeel. More bitter than sweet. Malt or chocolate flavour quite minimal. Appropriate carbonation.Almost like a nitro tap in a bottle.

12 Oz Bottle via footy. Flat cardboard and white toast aroma. Light salted caramels. Faint roast. Spills a deep black-brown, with mahogany fringes and rim of tanned soap. Flavor is a static, wet, plain brown sugar and plum flavor. Old tasting. Bits of ocean flotsam. Finishes in the higher metallic range. Salted. Pretty weak stout base. Body is a nip thin. Soured coffee grains. Does not excel. A bit too still, but more carbonation would have blasted through the empty body of the beer, making it even less desirable.

Very very dark, practically black. Full, creamy, tan-hued head that remains almost until the last sip.

A deep roasted, malty flavor. The bitterness and hop flavor are quite notable, more than I expected. I'm not so great with specific styles, but to me, this is approaching an imperial stout. Maybe. Anyway, I like it. If I ever see their imperial, I'll definitely have to try it to compare.

The deeper I get into the pint, the more I notice the coffee notes. Nice subtlety. Some alcohol is peeking through too. Slightly.

A very worthy and drinkable stout. I would have had another, but I decided to try the porter next. I'll definitely have another in the future.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle to a pint glass. The liquid dark brown with almost to big carbonation. The head is a fluffy 3 fingers, tan and leaves lots of lace.

The smell is roasty toasty with a flowery note.

The taste follows toasty, with chocolate and coffee notes

The mouthfeel is good, nice body but the carbonation is.. Well a lot.

The drinkability is good, a good example to the style. Right on. Prosit MK

Some roasted malt and chocolate, but the aroma is mild thought that isn't a problem with the style. Deep black with thumb thick mocha head. Very bitter and acidic in the fore with ample coffee notes. Middle is a lessened version of the fore taste with a touch of sweetness from the finish which is cream and sugar espresso and chocolate. Tasty and fun to drink.

Pours a deep brown with a smallish mocha head that leaves little bits of lacing.

Smells of roasted malts with coffee and chocolate.

Tastes of the roasted malts with a little oat smoothness. Malts come through with chocolate, coffee, and a bit of molasses. Some earthy hops come in the end and add to some of the roasted bitterness. Oatmeal makes its appearance on the end and adds it typical smoothness. Finishes fairly dry.

Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a pretty solid oatmeal stout.

A: Chocolate brown as it pours, Dark black with a nice tan head on top in the glass, that is very persistent.

S: Roasted coffee, and dark chocolate. The oatmeal comes through as well as a bit of bread, there is a slight earthiness to it. Nice.

T: A slight tartness hits the tongue first, but that is followed by chocolate, and slightly acidic dark roast coffee. The finish has a touch of sweetness.

M: Medium, carbonation is medium low and works for the brew. I wish there was a little more bite to the mouthfeel, a little more chewiness, or creaminess.

O: Overall a pretty good brew. Not a bad stout at all. Enjoyable.
