Pours a black color, with mohagony, ember hints at the edge, topped by a big, fluffy, beige head.
Smells of spicy, earth entangled malts, amped up by bakers chocolate and glazed malts. Got a skunky, sour yeast note, creating a unique profile, also due to salty smoke. Offers a grassy hop note, settling on top of the malt foundation, joined by a subtle tropic fruit addition.
Has a lower carbonation, with a medium body, while a certain bubble impact acts as a convincing counterpart to the malt sweetness, by providing a coppery note.
Tastes of milk chocolate and glazed toffee, accompanied by wooden coffee. This sets the balance, topped off by leafy hops, caramel and a peppery spice bite. Finishes with more coffee, while also providing more caramel, tied together by the hot, short spice bite.
Exhibits a very malty version of a saison, which does come well together though, with all flavors blending very supportive into each other, still reminding me more of a stout than anything else.
