On tap at De Molen. I had quite some double IPA's lately as somehow some US stuff is coming to the Netherlands at the moment. I had some aggressive ones, some were fruity, some were bitter, some were very sweet. But these guys at De Molen managed to put all of this in 1 beer. Unbelievable! Such a fruity, floral, spicy aroma. You can smell it from over 1 meter away. Then you try it and the sweet, bitter, floral, grapefruit flavors play with you mouth. Mouthfeel is very nice, silky, almost oily. Yummy!

Brewed by members of PINT, the Dutch beer consumer association. Tasted at the WBF-08 in Gouda, NL. According to PINT, this is a tripel IPA, but in my opinion an American barleywine.
Appearance is copper brown, with a thin head.
Smell is citric hoppy with typical US hops notes. A big sweet maltiness to balance the hops. Some nutty smells that also come from the yeast.
Taste is incredibly hoppy with citric and resinous raw hop tastes. Bitterness is high and nicely balanced by the big sweet maltiness. Malt tastes like a lot of pale malt and a good amount of caramalt. The yeast gives some fruity tastes that are merely overshadowed by the hop and malt, but there is some apricots in here. One of the better beers of the festival.
