Consumed January 27th 2014 from an 11.2 oz capped bottle labeled "13 /09/12". Beer label is Cease & Desist, not Disputin. Poured into a Klokke Roeland goblet.
The beer is much lighter than expected for a Russian Imperial Stout: more deep brown than the standard black. A 3 finger tan head sits atop the beer at first pour, but soon settles down to a mere thin skin of foam. No sheeting that sticks longer than a few moments.
Aroma is strange for an RIS, too; instead of the usual aromas, this has a bit of a metallic scent complemented by a sweet malt note. No sign of the usual coffee or chocolate.
Flavor has an unfortunate sour, metallic note. Some darkly roasted malt is apparent in the flavor; probably the chocolate malt. Somewhat acidic. Finish is slightly warming and moderately bitter. Did they use champagne yeast to ferment this?
A little bit thick (emphasis on little) and certainly warming in the mouth.
I have home brewed an Imperial Stout that was as good as this one and that is not bragging. Maybe the 16 month age was more than this brew could stand?

Ebony with a 1/2" creamy, tan head, which slowly fades. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is roasty, chocolate, sweet.
Taste is dark cocoa, coffee, roast malt, caramel.
Full body, light carbonation. Dry, astringent finish.
Outstanding! Sweet aroma but a dry finish.

Purchased from Purvis Beer in Melbourne, Australia, in November 2021.
Pours a deep, dark brown sugar black colour in the glass. Very thin cap of foam after the initial burst but leeching down the glass as the beer is drained. Carbonation is unseen through the opaque beer.
Nose is mild chocolate, some roast, molasses and a sweet vanilla/lactose smell.
Taste is sweet but well balanced by the bitterness. There's chocolate, rich and sweet caramel malt, molasses and the bitterness mentioned earlier. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is abrupt despite the sweet body.
Mouthfeel is silky smooth. Despite the lack of evident carbonation in the glass it pops in the mouth and makes itself known on the swallow.
Overall this is a very enjoyable beer. It's being fuck in the last weeks of autumn after a long afternoon of gardening and is hitting the spot beautifully.
Cheers!

Bottled 2014. I had'nt heard of this beer and am always ready to try the unknown, once, even with a steep price tag (17.99 for 11.2 oz). Pretty sure it was past its prime at 8 yrs but it was still good, not great.

Its from 2019 one of the last shelton bros imports randomly popped up at my local. it's suffered but it has good bones. sweet with a tinge light sensation of soy sauce vibes. I'm sure it's great fresh but was never meant to age and if it was, probably wasn't aged properly. A nice tick and I appreciate being able to try something so esoteric.

460 Reviews to date over 12 years, plus 105 Gots =interesting, suggests perhaps a special occasion beer/one to age, or '''them Ruskies''' have been recently flooding the market ;) !
L- Superficially black, held up by a haolgen it's deep ruby red. Pours with 2mm mid-tan head, pretty good considering the ABV%.
S- I'm surprised how little I get from it, even with winter congestion. Nothing distinguishable enough to id - most unusual.
T- Woah. Pungent and held on the palate it builds for a while. It has a little ABV% 'spear' (lol) that every few seconds prods my palate, the ABV% is pretty clear and I've no problem with that. I wonder if this is barrel aged to get this depth of flavour and liquor'ish notes - vodka barrels maybe!? Otherwise I get deep malts, some roasty-toasts notes and a dry note into the finish that might be a alcohol/dry hops double-play. Wouldn't mind more detail in the Taste but the ABV% bluntens other aspects.
F- Pungent + moderately rich as is in full-on, and yet at no risk of approaching sweet or over-rich. Good balance for a beast like this I suppose. This is slow-sippin, winter-warmer territory.
O- Wow, one to sip and savour. Would go well with British Xmas pudding or strong cheese and the profile is full-on and could compliment them. I'd happily enjoy this again, it's $$ at £4.90 but it is something exceptional.
Bought from TremblingMadness/York as part of a mixed-case for home delivery BB: 24-08-2045!

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, stable, creamy head. Smells of lightly roasted, bready, caramel malt and strong notes of dark fruits: fig, raisin, plum, as well as some coffee and chocolate. Taste is a great balance of roasted, bready, caramel malt, strong notes of dark fruits: fig, rasisin, plum, some coffee, chocolate and molasses as well as lighter notes of red fruit, licorice and just a hint of tobacco and earthy/herbal, bitter hops. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some dark fruits, coffee and chocolate lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and light/medium carbonation.
While the flavor profile leans a tad too much towards the sweet, fruity notes here for my personal taste, this is quite nicely balanced by some more roasted and quite bitter notes as well, giving this a good complexity on top of already being quite rich. All in all a very enjoyable, rich, complex and well-balanced Imperial Stout.

De Zombier. Botella. En copa Teku. Viendo Black Summer 1x06-07.

Deep space black; very little head, thin and fizzy, ultimately leaving a slight ring of foam around the rim of the beer. Rich, roasty, mildly boozy aroma; cocoa. Rich cocoa and mild booze flavor; bitter with some aromatic spiciness. Heavy body; slick and silky on the palate; mainly dry mouthfeel overall.
This beer has aged well. The appearance (head-wise) is a little lacking, but the taste and feel are awesome for an old beer. The original label states "The beer will be good for 25 years If kept Cool and dark". In addition, it reads "This batch 1030 Bottles from 75cl".
This bottle has conflicting labeling. The apparent original label has the name as "Rasputin', brewed on 13/14 February 2009 and a bottling date of 17n March 2009 with bottle number 510. The paste on label over the original name lists the name 'Disputin' with hand-written numbering of 208/1170. There was an apparent legal dispute between Brouerij de Molen and North Coast (the paste on label has the following verbiage: This stout used to be called 'Rasputin', but the people who make 'Old Rasputin' in California thought you were too dumb to tell the two products apart, and threatened to sue us for trademark infringement. Think about that when you're looking for a way to spend your hard-earned beer money."
