Pours a clear light golden color with a quarter inch white head that dissipates into a film of foam.
Aroma is comprised of confectioners sugar, grainy malt, and floral hops. There's a bit of dankness and a hint of citrus present. Grapefruit, citrus zest, and alcohol surface as it warms.
The flavor is fairly subtle, with bitter, catty hops overwhelming the light citrus notes. Tastes a bit flat initially, lacking in malt breadth. Not quite as much flavoring hops as expected. Tangerine and coriander add complexity. Lime zest becomes evident.
Body is moderate, with moderate to low carbonation, which adds to the flabbiness of the beer.
Somewhat disappointing from a flavor standpoint. Lacking malt and hop flavor for the style.

Found at a random place, Baguetteria del Fico, by the Pantheon in Rome. It was 80+ and I wanted an IPA that I hadn't had before and this is what the owner seggested.
Poured from a very cold bottle into a plastic teku glass. I wanted a cold beer an wasn't going to bitch.
First glance was great. A light golden hue with a finger, maybe two, of foam which slowly faded.
Amazing floral aroma which stayed as long as the beer. The wife, who has a nose like a bloodhound, LOVED the scents coming from this, as did I.
While I'd stop short of calling this amazing, it's a damn good IPA that was not expected since a) I wasn't looking for a craft beer bar and b) didn't know De Molen made a great IPA.
Not sure if this is distro'd in the US, but if so, definately give it a go.

Review from 2011 notes (forgot to put review on BA). Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a cloudy orange amber with massive, coarse two finger head that dissipates quickly, leaving lacing. Aroma of piney hops and light citrus fruit. Interesting resiny pine and dry bready flavor backed by light fruit and citrus. Semi-dry with a low malt presence. Nice herbal hop finish, somewhat dry and distinctive. Not as intense citrus a most american IPAs. This is quite unique in flavor. I usually like a good malt backbone in IPAs, which is lacking here, but the flavors are so interesting that I still really enjoyed this IPA. A reliably great brewery.
