A similar atmosphere that you would find at any Whole Foods store, though perhaps even more full of hipsters and hippies. The store is physically quite small with real narrow aisles which makes navigating the store similar to getting through the Holland Tunnel on your way into work in NYC (lots of delays). The beer and wine section is in the back righthand corner and is mostly just cooler areas but there are a few spots in the beer/wine section that have beer at room temperature on shelves. Additionally, you will need to pay attention to the endcaps in the store as I saw some beers that were not in the beer section on those (mostly bomber format).

The beers were the proper seasonals and all appeared to be fresh (for those with date codes on them). The majority of the beers were being sold at refrigeration temperature from the coolers and the section did not have any windows though the fluorescent lighting was quite bright (one of the brightest sections of the store).

I personally did not interact with any employees in the beer section but I do not have the expectation in a grocery store of getting good pointers for beer. Since I have been to the Asheville area numerous times, I was familiar with the products on the shelves.

The selection is pretty decent but not overly extensive with a heavy focus on local Asheville breweries (it pales in comparison with Bruisin' Ales and Appalachian Vintners). Fairly decent selection of local singles but again nothing that is not easy to find.

I did not try the food on this visit but like other Whole Foods, it has a fairly extensive hot food bar and cold food bar.

Prices were fair and in line with other shops in the area for beer.

Sunday Afternoon, on our way to Wedge. Swing in for a quick one.

Atmosphere: Asheville's hippest place to shop - a hipster paradise in a hipster town. Seriously, Greenlife is a high end grocer, especially busy on a Sunday.

Quality/Service: Clean store, if not a little harried. I didn't seek out any assistance and didn't receive any.

Selection: Average selection - heavy on locals (all NC I consider to be local). Most everything is in a few open coolers near the back of the store. I didn't come across anything new or exciting and would recommend checking out a few of the better stores in town first.

Stopped by here on my way back to Oklahoma, pretty access from my route.

The beer section was laid out in an organized & coherent manner

The quality on all beer purchased was good

The beer beer guy was very chatty & I saw him go half across the store to show a beer to a customer they were asking about ( they were in bombers not six packs ). The cashier was fairly friendly too

Selection of NC brews was pretty darn good with a respectable regional & import selection as well A fair selection of to go growlers as well. I walked out of there with stuff from French Broad, Highland, Pisgah, Brooklyn, Stone & Epic

Prices on all beers were pretty reasonable

This is a great plan B if Bruisin Ales isn't open
