This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

It’s summertime! While away those long daylight hours and languid southern nights with this hazy, hoppy IPA. Caramalts set a subtly sweet tone for our infusion of five different hops. A unique double dry hop of Mosaic, Simcoe and Chinook renders an unfiltered gem that drinks like a bowl of fresh summer fruit.

Poured into an imperial nonic a slightly hazed tangerine-like color with a half finger rather quick to fade white head atop.Grapefruit rind stood out most in the nose along with lighter floral notes, some sweet biscuit was detected as well.A healthy dose of citrusy hops greet the palate and seem very fresh, mildly sweet biscuit holds throughout.I rally liked the fresh hoppy flavors and it goes down real easy,a solid June offering from Foothills.

Honestly this beer caught me a bit off guard (in a good way). I'm drinking it on a hot summer night and given the floral hops, smooth profile, and drinkability, I'm really digging it. Great summer beer - Foothills continues to deliver great brews apropos of the season.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, almost opaque, yellow-maize coloring with a steady flow of carbonation throughout the body, and a filmy, sparse, white surface coating of head. Aromas of pine tassels, cut grass, lemongrass, tropical fruits, melon, subtle tangerine, and tangy grapefruit. A lot of fruit sweetness all around on this nose. Smells very refreshing. Flavors are tangy forward, as well, with a blast of tart grapefruit and other citrus, followed by the more mellow sweetness of melon and pineapple. There is a solid ridge of resin and pine characteristics, as well, with a building bitterness as you drink. It doesn't let you forget it's an IPA. The body is effervescent and light, with a tangy and citrus sweet aftertaste. There's still a linger of resinous pitch and bitter in the aftertaste, as well. The finish is crisp and clean, and the carbonation limits any lingering on the palate. Solid brew!

Bottle received in trade-- as an extra. Pleasantly surprised... very nice hop profile, citrus and tropical fruit with just enough malt to balance.

I have had all of these ( Except as I said before March) I don't know if there was a limited distribution or I just missed the gun on that one. It seems like that the rest of the months were very easy to get. Anyway, 5 out of 6 months ain't bad. I like the gimmick.

Appearance: Hazy golden color, this beer looks more like a wheat beer than other IPA's I have had, if that means anything to you. No real sediment and a fair amount of head if pour aggressively.

Smell: Citrus fruits, some grapefruit from the hops, not too aggressive though.

Taste: This would be a good introductory IPA. It isn't like a Stone Enjoy by but its got good flavor without being too bitter, not that I don't like the Stone, I love it actually. But I have friends that are just American Lager drinkers and content with that. I think they might like this one. Its fruity, zesty in a citrus kind of way, pretty well balanced. But its a very light IPA. If you like them to be aggressive this is not the one for you. Its very drinkable and if it were more like $9.99 for a six pack I would say buy them up. But I paid like $6.99 for this 22 oz. and its really not worth that, when you can buy a six pack of really better beer, from this brewery in fact, for just a few dollars more. I don't know if the brewers read these reviews, but it may be something to consider. Although limited production and limited distribution can keep prices up.

Overall: I will buy one more, but after July I don't know, I may save the hard earned cash for better beer that is not that much more. For instance I purchased the Enjoy by 7.4.14 for a dollar more than this one and really there is no comparison.

Appearance: Rather cloudy, with an amber color and a modest head; quite a few strands of lace

Smell: Pithy, with lemon and grapefruit influences

Taste: A showcase for the Mosaic hops, the malt delivers a rather neutral flavor with the hops taking over from the start; grapefruit and lemon tones, but very pithy rather than fruity

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Another nice beer in the series; not quite up to the standard set in May but very drinkable and I like how the malts are not as pronounced as in the earlier beers of the series
